Great car !!!!!  But, as they say, No exspence was spared and more than 7,000 was spent on detail work alone. Well, they went to the wrong person for their wiper motor, radiator cap, washer bottle, etc.......  Another FuFu ad on no substance..... Must have went to the Volo-museum-school-of-fufu..

I thought the same thing, Troy.  Overall, a very nice car but the ad makes you think it should be perfect when it's not.  Their "detail guy" must not have sat behind the wheel, since he missed that huge crack in the woodgrain...

That's 402xxx (#191 on the list), once owned by Don Bradshaw from Saskatchewan (don't know if he's the seller now or not).  Last I knew, the car was not in Canada.  I've heard that one called the "Spy Daytona" before since a Secret Service agent used to own it.  The car sold new out of Colorado, but spent time in NM, MD, NE, Saskatchewan, KS & recently in MO.

Full story here:

http://mapleleafmopars.homestead.com/daytona.html

Jim McCauley (3--Daytona) saw this car within the last month or so when a resto shop in Buffalo, MO was looking for a replacement back glass that apparently they broke when messing around with the rear window trim.  Jim can chime in with the rest of the details about the car...

Here are a few of the in-progress pictures from the Mapleleafmopars site:

I seen that car to on mapleleaf mopars.looks nice .The wingcar judge in me sees alot of no no's :rotz:.That you think wouldnt be there on such a restoration.

Hello, geno,,troy,,and all wing car lover's everywhere!!!!!!! Caution!!!!!!!  I personally looked this car over about two weeks ago.   Nice car,,,but not all things are as they seem.   Anyone ever heard of false advertising??????????  All for now   3-daytona

hemigeno

cudahob, is the car at a resto shop?  Jim M. had said that it was being prepped for an auction somewhere, which is mentioned in the eBay ad.

To me, this eBay listing is nothing short of pre-auction advertising.   :flame:

Oh, and I already have the VIN - just didn't want to post the whole thing since the mapleleafmopars website didn't list the full VIN.  Thought perhaps Mr. Bradshaw did not want to have that disclosed for whatever reason.  I had cross-referenced the S.O. number listed on the website to establish the VIN, but Jim M. confirmed it when he spotted the car at the Buffalo, MO resto shop.

We're always up for more pics, though!

Thats the impression I got from looking at some pictures.Seems like when you see a car this extensively taken down and gone through. That the corrections in details would have been made.Wouldnt this be the 2nd time this car was restored from pictures on mapleleaf mopars .And these pictures saying it was just restored and no expense spared

Oh, anyone could bid on it - I just highly suspect that the reserve is set astronomically high.  You can also bet that the auctioneer will be more than happy to mention whatever price (below the reserve) that the eBay auction ends at when the car rolls across the block.   :rotz:

The Daytona is at the detail shop, and will be back next week. He showed me the spare tire though.   ;)

I wont post the vin, but I'll take lots of pictures. Somebody remind me plz.

The grass in the pictures is to green this time of year, must have been there since October.

You said it could use some corectness detailing. No blackout on rad support wrong ballast and holder oill cap not chrome plug wires should be black lack of both jacks trunk tail light plastic cover. And had trailer taps on the brake light wires and wrong rims should have trim ring magnums.Just to name a few overlooked details

The restoration sure isnt up to todays standards   --- a C body oil pan - whats with that ,isnt the air cleaner pie tin wrong color too ??? lots of easy to correct things though and a great looking car in spite of the details !!!

nascarxx29

Your right the oil pan should have 402 on it .It seems to have a torque cable attached to the motor mount. The pie pan should be red

Oh, snap.

Thanks for making the attempt anyway!  If you know which auction and/or website we could track it at, that would be an interesting one to watch.

It's back?

I don't really know a lot about Daytonas or 2nd gens, but I looked at this:

I think there is something wrong
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

As far as the wing location goes, the photo isn't taken from an angle squared to the center of the car. From looking at it, the person was standing slightly off to the left of the center, and facing at a slight angle towards the passenger side front of the car, which could make the wing appear to be unevenly spaced from the deck lid.

WOW, I am surprised this car has changed hands so much.

Thanks - How are you doing? I have just been going nuts with work. Working on my son's 72 Charger still. It looks like I might make another run on the wings - Someone is bugging me to have one made for him locally. Do you think there are people who might want one on this board? I have not looked through this board to see if people really want the solid wing for not.

hotrod98

There hasn't been a lot of discussion regarding people wanting to buy wings at this point. Most of the talk lately has been about their construction, pros and cons. Same old thing really.
Dane, I woud start a new thread and ask if anyone's interested. I would also mention it in a thread over on the DSAC site as well as the  moparts site.
My plan at this point is to use one of the wings that I bought from you. The extra weight doesn't bother me really. If I owned a Janek wing right now, it would be a toss up as to which one that I would use. They both have their own flaws and attributes.
I sold the extra wing that I bought from you to a member of this site when my wife decided that she wanted a bird clone instead of a tona clone.
