When I am in my 69 charger it is the greatest feeling in the world! Just knowing you are driving one of the most bad ass cars ever made. I like the fact that that there are not many on the road so you really stand out. It is great to have a car that makes you feel younger too... :yesnod:

:iagree: even my 73 that needs work makes me feel good and gets lots of looks,  my wife says they look because it's such a pos, but I know better ;D

It may not stop on a dime, handle like it's on rails, accelerate like raped ape and it doesn't have air conditioning, cruise control, or even an FM radio (let alone dvd, tv or satellite) but when I drive it, I feel like I am part of it.  Modern cars may perform better on all counts but they can't match the visceral thrills of trying to tame one of these old brutes.

and then all they see is  :drive:

I agree........although now that my hot rod is drivable, I doubt I'll drive my Charger much. ;D Old cars are too much FUN! :icon_smile_big:

Mate, you should try driving down here in Australia.

We never got any B Bodies. When I drive my 71 around it is the biggest car on the road. With the cost of fuel the majority of cars here are about half the length of my Dodge.

There's the other fact that there's probably only a handfull of 3rd Gen cars in Australia as it is, and even though there's a few 2nd Gen Chargers, you NEVER see them driven on the road. I take mine out almost every day. :icon_smile_big:

I know exactly what you guys are talking about.  It's the greatest.  I walk out of a store or wherever and there are people all around taking pictures and stuff.
I let kids get in it and take pictures, adults too sometimes.  Everyone loves a Charger.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Thanks great! Gotta get them kids turned on to good cars...............
I remember one time while out cruising on a Saturday afternoon(@ 8 years ago), at a stop light, these two chicks in the car next to me started asking about my car, they dug it, and wanted a closer look. So I followed 'em to a parking lot up ahead. We talked for awhile and the older one (@ 32) asked if see could drive.......both girls were pretty good lookin' so I said "sure, think you can handle it?" She said yes (she'd grown up around Mopars) and we were off. Went just up the block and she got on it a little. Both of 'em had a blast.....and it was also the first time in @ 5 years that I had ridden in the back seat.....hahahaha!!!!! Good times.......

best feeling I remember was the first time I drove my 70, I trailered it home when I bought it and then proceeded to spend the next year and a half ripping it apart sanding, replacing, adjusting, rebuilding, breaking and fixing my car until July 4th 2002 when it took its maiden voyage under its own power. I planned that day for a long time and even though I wasn't finished with the car there was no stopping me from taking it out and rippin up the tires for the first time.

I met a Dad & son tooling around one afternoon. I think the car made their day.
