Go for it, the car is cheap...

Wakko

I like it.  His ASKING price is 4k, which means he'll probably take 3500 or so.  Figure in shipping charges or transportation charges back to your house too.  Great car though, IMO.  Lotta miles but that's not a disqualifier by any stretch.

Its close enough to drive to see it. I would like to drop in a 440 in the future if I get it. I wonder if that top stripe is stock?

Gawd I thought a certain member for WA was bad... ::)

I think its cool his dad encourages his hobby, they are thousands of dead beat dads that don't give a shit about their kids, hopefully my girls (ages 2 & 4) will grow up to love mopars like my wife and I, and if so I (Daddy) will be sure they have one. that was a rude comment.

Oh BTW,  'stangH8R' --- I think its a cool ride I think you (and your Dad) should jump on it

Geordie

Give him a break guys. Why are you riding him because his old man's helping him out. He's young and still lives at home, as do a lot of young people. I know I do.(I guess some of you guys were never kids.. ::) I wish my dad would double the money for a car. If it looks good to you, I say buy it.

Telvis

I think it's great that his dad will help out. My dad died when I was very young. I never had that kind of opportunity. I wish I had. I know I will help my son and daughter as long as they do well in school and stay out of trouble. My son already has his sights set on a Mopar.

TheGhost

My dad, for all he used to own the classic Mopars, does not support my love of them.  He'll help me when the Dart ain't running, but, he is just plain not a car guy. :-\  I wish my dad would pay half for my cars.

Stormhammer

its nice when a parent will help out - at least the dad isnt buying it for him right?

I know with me - it was either a hand me down or I buy my own... soo... I ended up with a '72 Charger  :icon_smile_approve:

martinihenry

While obviously different, the striping on this car instantly made me think of this picture from "Mighty Mopars" by Anthony Young. This has got to be my favorite 3rd gen Charger scheme.

If so he had better trade the 318 for a 225 instead of a 440.

I think there are at least 2 post in this thread that he did not mention his dad.  Send him a check, if your an honest man? :yesnod: :icon_smile_cool:

Looks like a good deal.   Get your Father to give you the bread and buy the car.   Then show him respect by taking care of it and not driving it like a fool.

You are fortunate and make sure you tell your Father that you appreciate it.   He obviously cares for you and trusts your judgement.

Buy it! My dad was with me when I bought my charger at 17 (still got it 18 years later) He passed away some time ago and I wish he was still with me to see the car when its finished.

As a whole I am not a big 73-74 Charger fan, but I do like that one. Roof stripe add's just the little something.

Look's like a well cared for Charger as well. Hope you get it, good starting point.

Like the other people said, treat the Charger with respect and don't drive like you post! ;D

Talk to dear old Dad and see if he can buy it. Before you doing anything to Charger make sure you pay him back.

My Dad was far from being supportive when it came to my Mopar love. Hell, he would not let me buy a 69 1/2 6-pack Road Runner that I had the cash for! :icon_smile_dissapprove: But I did get 68 Road Runner from him. Plus, at 17 was I really ready for a 440-6 4-speed 4.10 car, NO! Father does know best.

                      Good Luck, Cuda Ken

In the Auto trader theirs a complete running 225 for $150. pluse it will be good on gas.Since my parents are letting me have one of their cars I won't have to drive it as much.
