THE CHARGER PUNK

Rented this movie as i haven't seen it in a while and the car is supposedly a 68 ''Hemi'' barracuda , well at exactly 1HR and 22 minutes and four seconds in ,after he smashes his car into this big blue Cadillac near the end of the movie u see him reach to disconnect the battery as the horn of the car is going off, you see the wide crinkle black valve cover with the spark plugs going through them and then it hits me, holy S#*T that is a 426 hemi, definitely a movie worth to watch to see an actual 68 Hemi barracuda in action-MATT

TheGhost

It's not an actual 68 HEMI.  It's a 68 that had a crate engine dropped in.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

THE CHARGER PUNK

thats what i mean its a 68 barracuda with a hemi engine in it, not one of the actual hurst barracudas, also to point out more that fast it has a stock 68 interior minus rear seat and it has a full steel front end incuding hood w/scoop-MATT

bull

I like the blown Cuda in Hellraiser with the toggle switch on the dash that activates the blower pulley when you really need to move.  :shruggy: :rotz:

Owned the movie for quite awhile now, but i  would agree it's an awesome car. I love that he picked an old Mopar to chase some one around the country.

1970 Charger  318
1932 Ford Rat Rod   (under construction)

THE CHARGER PUNK

that cars so mean lookin and the way it was built with 70 slap stick stripes and 69 lower rocker stripes ,426 hemi emblem on the scoop, pistol grip shifter(most likely outta a 71 b-body) and you can see he has an sheet metal face where the radio is suppose to be with 3 guages in it(which is exactly how sox and martin's barracuda had it-MATT

I love that movie just for the soundtrack alone.  The director really captured the sound of the Cuda's engine in that one  :yesnod:
My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts listening to the chase scene louder than than the talking scenes.  :eyes:
1968 Charger -currently spread all over my garage!

THE CHARGER PUNK

yeah i was wondering where that front spoiler came from? i know they make a front spoiler for a 71 dart but where could u find one for a 68 barracuda? i like that look-MATT

THE CHARGER PUNK

watched it again and when the hood crumpeles u see the high rise air cleaners and can clearly see its a cross-ram intake, so it gets even better :icon_smile_big:

It's a 68 Cuda & if you watch toward the end you'll see it is an RB in the car. Just pay close attention & you'll see the spark plug wires.

road warrior was many many years before this movie was even a brain fart of the writer.

I'm sure this movie got at least a little of it's inspiration from "Road Warrior."
