I've got a '68 383 .030 over, edelbrock performer intake, holley 800 dbl pumper, headers, and a comp cam 292 duration/.510 lift. I'm not sure what pistons is has and I think it has the stock heads but I'm not 100% sure/ I haven't got it running yet but I was told it will run poorly with the current cam. What are your thoughts? The car will be driven almost daily so it can't be like a drag car or anything. Also with the current set up what can I expect horsepower wise? thanks in advance for any info.

292 duration cams tend to be big for most street apps , especially in a 383 & especially with power brakes
i would probably use an Engle K54 or 56 ... www.englecams.comĀ

I just spent some time on the phone the other day with Mark Engle of Engle cams. He is a guy worth talking with to be sure. Give him a call with as much info about your car as possible such as gears, converter, compression etc. He will put you were you need to be. My choice was the K54 grind for my 440 with 9.1 compression, RPM intake, stage 1 906's and 3.23 gears and an auto tranny. Its going to be a driver for sure.  I also mentioned to him I was refered by this board. good luck
