the rear bar  is mounted on the axle  , brackets bolted to the frame  for the  bar links .
the front sway bar  does not look like  one for a 68/ 69  witch use the factory mounting tabs on the lower control arms .  :scratchchin:  looks more like a 70 bar , or ... :-\may be a kit for a  70   with no factory bar . if the bar comes with both sets of mounting brackets - the small  ones bolt on  the lower control arm ,  - to mount them in the 70 location &  the k frame ones , i think it would fit with some fabrication   :scratchchin:

Ya, im aware of that site. I was checking ebay sway bar cause you get 2 front and rear for cheaper than firmfeel's rear bar only, same diameter.

I have an Addco rear bar from Summit and a Hotchkis 1 3/8 bar on the front. Both work great.

Charger-Bodie

i bought my front and rear bars from that guy they are nice no problems either.any reason why youre rear needs to mount to the frame rails?by the way mine is mounted to a dana60 and its close to the pumkin but it doesnt hit :icon_smile_cool:
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Silver R/T

less weight on suspension which is better for handling, pretty much like having lightweight rims vs those "dubs"

I have a 70 with stock bar , who makes a 1-1/8 front bar that will fit in stock location and 3/4 rear bar ?

Chatt69chgr

I have a 69 charger with 318.  I am installing a 440.  I measured the stock front sway bar and it is 15/16 inch diameter.  Was a larger diameter sway bar used on 440 applications?  My aim is to deal with the increased weight of the 440 and improve handling slightly.  I will not be road racing the car but don't like cars that handle like a bathtub on 4 springs.  Is their a generally agreed on larger diameter front sway bar that most folks use?  And on the rear, is a 3/4 inch diameter sway bar a good size to use.  My car doesn't have a rear bar and I thought that Chargers didn't come with one but it seems that it could benefit by adding one.  I hope this isn't hijacking the thread since it seems to be generally discussing swaybars.  Thanks.

It will be interesting to see who has installed a 1 1/8 in sway bar in a 70 B-body K-member as it will
definitely be a tight squeeze getting it through the skid plate. I have eyeballed the distance so it looks like it should fit.
I am ordering mine soon.

Let us know how it works out ! Good luck GRASSSHOPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There has been a lot of talk about the sway bar size, some people say the 318 cars came with the smaller bar.
Well, I have had 29yrs of exp working on, and parting out these cars, and every 68-69 Charger I have ever
delt with had a 15/16 front sway bar 318 to Hemi car................... I myself added a 5/8 rear sway bar off
of a 78 Dodge Diplomat Police Car, that was 27yrs ago, and yes it does help, even with only a 5/8 bar. I
did add Polly bushings all the way around, that also helped. I have probably 9 sway bars in my shed, from
318 cars and 440 R/T cars, they are all 15/16.

Thanks 8wheeler.  That was precisely the kind of information I was looking for.  I do appreciate it.
