If there is ONE team in the NFL that absolutely LOATHS the Colts in every which way, it's Baltimore!

The Colts have most definitely got their work cut out for them next weekend.  The Ravens defense allow the LEAST amount of points on the board in the whole league.   I just pray that the Colts defense I saw today against the Chiefs will show up again in Baltimore!

I was totally taken back by the switch- the defense did a better job than Peyton and his offense!

Overall- an awesome game and my hats are off to Kansas City.  Now we'll roll our sleeves up and prep for next weekend.  It's all uphill from here.

UPDATE:  The defense shows up again this week- along with Vineteri's foot, and we win!!!

I have relatives that are Ravens season ticket holders.

Yeah, they hate what the Irsays did. Funny, they didn;t have any problem with Art Modell screwing the people of Cleveland.

I guess it all depends which side of the fence you're on.

Yea, what was that? Real good time to bobble a snap, eh? Oh well, I kind of wanted the stinking Seahawks to lose but I like seeing Dallas lose just as much.

that game was embarrasing!

Now you know how I felt against Jacksonville!  Talk about a route!

Our defense can be so damn "hot and cold".  I'm a little nervous about going into Baltimore to be honest.

Yeah, but Art Modell didn't keep it a secret that the Browns were leaving town and heading for Baltimore-
Irsay loaded up his Colts in the middle of the night, quiet as a mouse, and left town, burning bridges behind him.

The next morning they were burning effigies of Irsay and the Mayor of Indy, in the streets of Baltimore.  No kidding.

1984 marked a turning point in Indianapolis history- a true "renascence" in every respect, thanks to Jim Irsay.

True enough. Modell didn't do it in the dark. I felt bad for Cleveland. Back then, lots of NFL teams were holding cities hostage for tax payer finances stadiums and Cleveland did the right thing and said no. Too bad the league didn't have the balls to say no.

I think Peyton knows what's at stake considering how he played last Saturday.  If the defense can play at the same level it did, and Peyton does what he always does with that laser sharp arm of his, we've got a chance at the division championship game.

Manning CHOKES in the postseason.  He has more interceptions than touchdowns in all the post season games he has ever played.  He completes only 50% of his passes (more if you count the ones he completes to the other team). :yesnod:

The Colts season has disappointed many! ::)

Not much hope for him this weekend. :-\

Ahh, I love being the underdog.  Bring on the naysayers!

I must admit, I didn't think the Colts could pull it off by just field goals alone- not against the Ravens, but I was ever so glad to be proven wrong!

I cannot remember when the Colts played such a team where the results on the field were so close; same amount of first downs, time of possession, yards thrown, yards rushed- all pretty much evenly matched throughout the game.  The keys to victory for my Colts was Vineteri's foot and our defense- who, smashed the critics with an awesome effort for the second week in a row!  I was amazed at how little both teams got into their respective red zones.  For Baltimore's part in the Colts victory, I would have to say it was the amount of turnovers.  The all-hailed defense really seemed to be all bark and not much bite tonight, as I watched (more or less jumped up and down throughout the living room) the game unfold.

Hats off to the boys in blue!!!

Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed for the Pats to win tomorrow.  C'mon Pats we want you in Indy next week!!!!!

You think that the better team won the game last night? San Diego moved the ball at will on New England. Then gave up on the run. I think that is what had LT so pissed off at the end of the game. He had 17 carries at the half, wound up with 23. And that is on a team that was winning until 2 minutes to go.

mikepmcs

Well, they are both very good teams so I will have to say that yes the better team last night won the game. :icon_smile_big:
Ok, I'm biased too.

So you guys think that the Colts would have rather played a team that has a Quarter back that is 12-1 in the playoffs, versus a team that had the leagues MVP?

nh_mopar_fan

I think the Colts would rather not play the team that has Manning has lost to twice now in the playoffs.

If you looked at the match-up, the Chargers probably owned most of them.

The Pats had the better QB and coach. They also had experience and those intanglibles.

So where was Merriman? He disappeared. The pass rush was no where to be found. The Pats O-line was huge.

Then you add in the STUPID penalties. The strip by Troy Brown on the INT. All the Charger has to do is fall down. STUPID.

Then, on top of it all, you have LT whining after the game that some Pats players were celebrating after the game and mocking Merriman's stupid dance.

In the end, the message is this, never over-estimate a Shottenheimer coached team.

mikepmcs

What he said.   Also If I were the colts, heck ya i'd rather play the team without Tommy in the mix.  Cause he's more than capable of doing what he did last night every time he goes out. I remember a guy #16 for the 49ers who Mr Brady reminds of.

Oh yeah he was #3 on my other favorite team too.

I never really had any serious animosity for the Chargers, but having grown up in L.A. a Raiders and Rams fan, I never did hold them in very high esteem. Then it all changed about a month ago and I really began to hate them. I had to drive to Tijuana on some family bussiness...this being the weekend before Christmas, I got stuck at the SanYsidro border crossing for 5 hours. Not being in my own car, I didn't have Sirius Satellite Radio, my mp3 player, or any CD's to keep me entertained, so I was forced to listen to the radio - and the only station I could get was a San Diego sports talk station. So for 5 hours I had to listen to Charger fans calling in and gloating about how great the Chargers were and how whichever NFC team made it to the Super Bowl would be no match for them. The worst part was that they, and the host to some extent, were talking as if going to the SB was a given. From that moment on, I decided that they needed to be brought back down to Earth and that I would root for any team that was playing them.

So as you can imagine, it was with great delight that I watched them get Plutoed by New England and LT's post-game meltdown.

which is a joke, because Merriman did his little dance to taunt the other teams...So basically he is stating it is only ok for his team to do that...

here ya go:

Tom Brady in Heaven

Tom Brady , after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven,
God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a
faded  Patriots  flag in the window. "This house is yours for eternity,
Tom ," said God. "This is very special; not everyone gets a house up
here."  Tom  felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house.

On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the
corner. It was a 3-story mansion with a  Blue & White  sidewalk, a
50-foot tall flagpole with an enormous  Colts  logo flag, and in every
window, a  Colts towel.  Tom  looked at God and said
"God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an
all-pro QB, I hold many NFL records, a nd I even  won a few Super bowls
God said "So what's your point  Tom ?" "Well, why does  Peyton get a better house than me?"

God chuckled, and said: " Tom , that's not  Peyton's   house, it's mine."
