71 Bee Man

G'day guys,

it wasn't that long ago I was complaining that there was "stuff all" on the net for owners of #rd Gen Chargers. Recently though - via a few of the threads on this forum - I've seen absolutely heaps of them and IT'S GREAT !!!
:2thumbs:

To see so many different ones is really good for someone like myself who doesn't get to see ANY in real life, other than 2 0r 3 that rarely get to an annual Mopar show I attend. When I first got my car all I found was forums and sites dedicated to 2nd Gen cars. It seemed if you didn't own a 2nd Gen car, then what were you doing. I really love the shape of the 71's, and thought I was the only one. Even when I signed up for this forum it was just to see some other Chargers regardless of model, but now there seems to be heaps popping, and it's fantastic to see.

I hope it continues - they're a great looking machine. :drive:

I agree, everyone has their favourite body styles and that's fine but i have only ever wanted a 3rd gen myself and there's not many where i live so i know what your saying! but it nice to know there are people like you and i all over the world long live the 3rd gen's  :2thumbs:

of course i am biased, but i think the 3rd gens are going to approach the 2nd gen in popularity and dollars eventually,as they get older and people want a real car more and more-plus they realize the superior design of the 3rd gen b body!i hope i have enough parts and pieces before that happens though :icon_smile_evil:

3rd gens are all I have ever owned...  When I first got a Charger it was a 73, and I thought it was a step towards the 69 I really wanted... But it grew on me. Eventually I sold that car and when I went looking for a 69, I realized how much I missed the 73.  I ended up buying another 73.

bulge hoods, last year of the hemi and six packs, the rallye packages, last year of the rt, first and only year of the charger super bee, flusher door handles, no side vent glass, hidden wipers, etc etc what more could you want? hands down the best are third gen's IMO

I have to admitt they have grown on me, 72 rallye is still my favorite.

3rd gens are definitely getting more and more respect. I was looking at buying a '69 Charger R/T back in '01. it had a siezed up 383 in it. at that same time, I stumbled across my now current '71 Charger super bee.....need I say more? the funny thing is, I could have snagged that beautiful '69 (fresh paint/ chrome) for a measly $2,500 but I went with the $8,500 '71 instead. it was the right choice for me, but I still kick myself for not snagging that '69 as well.  :rotz:
