741 to 489 or ?

I have a 741 open diff in my charger and want to upgrade to a suregrip. Looks like gear options are slim for the 741's and I have a brand new set of 3:55's for a 489 case. What would be the best option (thinking of cost)... find a 741 suregrip and gears for my 741 carrier or... find a 489 carrier with suregrip for my 3:55's.

Probably the 489 since you have the gears already.  If you can find a loaded 741, they are usually cheaper.

Well you allready have the 741 case and the 3.55's are available for that centersection so i would build it and sell the 3.55 489 gearset. The clutch style suregrip is more desirable and if i were buying one new...that's the one i would get.

Yes, that Suregrip unit will bolt in to your 741 case.

How much is that sure grip unit?  I know where there is an NOS mopar performance unit that may be for sale.

I dont know, the website's still being upgraded or something and I haven't gotten around to caling them yet.
