I'm 17 and just bought my first mopar in December. I found it out in the desert near Three Points, AZ. The owner was more than happy to sell and I got a great price. Its a 1968 Plymouth Sport Satellite H code 383 Auto. I know its not a charger but I thought I'd share anyways. Its got alot of great options:
AC
Power windows
26" radiator
Am/8 track radio
buckets w/ buddy seat

I just got it but I think I have a good idea of what I want to do. I've always been a fan of drivers/hot rods so I'm going to build this car how I want and drive it...alot. I'm thinking of going triple black (although the interior is in pretty good shape so I may leave it for now and change it out once everything else is done). I'm going to add disc brakes and mabye some suspension upgrades (suggestions?). The engine had some performance upgrades around 10 years ago. It got a .030 overbore, a holley 800 dbl pumper, edelbrock performer intake, headers, and a comp cam, so I may not have to sink too much into the motor to get it how I want. Well thats all I can think of so far. so enjoy the pictures:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Harlow

Thanks, those wheels are off of an 80's ford bronco. Needless to say, they will be saying bye bye very soon.

J/K, congrats on your car, it looks like it's in good shape.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

:smilielol:   everyone i know refers to exlporers as exploders!

That's 'cause it sorta rolls off the tongue. :icon_smile_tongue:

Actually, they have more of a rolling problem (from Firestone's) than they do exploding. :icon_smile_big:

I tried to use my uncle's Explorer truck to rent a car trailer from U-haul to get my car home and they don't rent to ANY kind of Explorer, due to a number to lawsuits involving U-haul and Explorers.

PocketThunder

Drive it home maybe?

That is a pretty sweet ride for being 17.   i would wash and wax the snot out of it and spend your money on brakes and wheels.....

Thats my plan! The body is actually amazingly good, literally no rust on it so. Its gonna need a new top but maybe later. I'm gonna get it running, do some brake work (discs later) and drive! But long term goals are paint it black and put a new top on it, mabye a 4 speed conversion(way down the road).

What do you guys think. White w/ black top (original), black w/ black top, or other?

mikesbbody

hi harlow and welcome! both options you mentioned are good but have you thought about no top? i dont know too much about car's like your's so i cant say what it would be like w/o a vinly roof i only mention it because i like my cars w/o the vinyl

Harlow

You know what I never really thought about it. I guess I thought I should put one on since it already had one. I guess I'll make the decision once I get the old one off. If the top looks good and would be easy to prep for paint I'll leave it off, If it looks bad I'll put one on. I read that the cars that got vinyl roofs didn't get much attention in the factory and some are pretty ruff underneath. I don't have a preference.

mikesbbody

you never know what you will find under that vinyl didnt you say it was a arizona car? that normally means rust free but if it looks good without it i say leave it off the problem with vinyl is if you ever get moisture underneath them (rain) you can be in for some rust issues however not much rain in arizona! anyway with or wthout it will look cool good luck mike.
