Sweet! Wish my wife would shop like that. Every year I ask my wife for another Charger and she ignores the request.  :flame:  This year she said i was already one over my limit. Bah humbug.

Doright

Those pics dont show the Sunroof at all

I have located some parts to fix the sunroof as well already got really lucky with that find

Dont know if I should look for another flat hood or a bubble or a Airgrabber hood time will tell probably go for the flat hood for know.

Let the tear-down begin!!!    You have a cool wife obviously.....tell her  "good job"!!!

Doright

No tear down yet must collect some parts and figure out whos going to restore what for me, and then I need to figure out if the Dash assembly has to come out in peices or can it be taken out in all one peice?

Like to ship the grill assembly off for a first rate redo as well as the dash assembly pad is going to just dashes as is most of the interior, Instroment assembly is also a preaty much no brainer as well

TylerCharger69

Since you've gotten a car you know nothing about  as far as history is concerned.....I'd tear out the dash  piece by piece.....that way every little thing can either be cleaned up properly or restored.   As you tear the car down...you'll find yourself needing a part here, a part there....etc.  This way....If it's tore down,  you will know already what you need and what has to be done.   I see a new hood and driver side fender in your future....lol

Doright

Over on another forum I seen the guy took out his whole dash in one peice! I was wondering if I could take it out and put it in like that?

Then I could disassemble it on the bench much easyer.
Make things a whole bunch easyer if I take things out as an assembly

You know, my father in law is a car freak in ways that even creep me out and yet, the thought of my wife ever buying me a Charger for Christmas is as remote as me starting a water farm on Tatooine.
You're a lucky man.

I fixed your post above so the pictures show. If you edit it you can see what I did. 2guns downloaded your pictures from AOL, resized them, and then uploaded them to this site separately.

Welcome! I see a nice project car there...
you have plans for paint perhaps?.. or a resto?..
nice,.. i don think too many folks get project cars from their wives for presents...   :icon_smile_wink:

Doright

I dunno about paint yet was going to change interior to Black but have decided to keep it white,
I have Gy9 on tag so I would like to find out what it looks like I dont think this car has been repainted but it doesnt look like gy9 I have seen on Challengers.
It does have a repaired rt quarter from long ago look realy minor from inside the trunk.
The guy I bought it from and some one else said it was Twany Gold?
I have no idea but if I dont like the factory color I will change it, too much work to not enjoy the car!

bullit68

take your front windshield out, then take out the dash assembly as a unit.its really easy, about 10-12 bolts.do yourself a favor and redo as much of the car yourself.otherwise you'll have way more into the car than its worth.concentrate on getting it running and driving first, then the body.don't get caught up in all of the little details(grill, dashpad, gauges)yet or you'll have no money and no car to drive.how hard can it be to detail the grill yourself?those deep set gauges rarely need any resto unless they got rusty.i've seen it so often, somebody buys a project car, gets all excited and tears it apart.then they spend their money on all the "fun" flashy stuff and not on the big items that should be done first.just my experienced opinion.

Doright

This will be my first rotisserie resto but far very far from my first rodeo ride ;) planing a good 2 year project at least and that will be hitting it hard doing a Lot myself.
If I wasn't so picky that 73 plymouth would be done and have an engine in it now.
