Column auto to 4 speed conversion?

Anyone done this? Are there any articles or tech archives that explain how to do this? Its something I would like to do on my 68 sport satellite and I thought I'd look into it to figure out what I need and how to do it and start looking for parts. I'd also like to hear from those who have done it, how it worked out? was it buggy or did it go smoothly? I'm working on a budget so should I go with a kit or get mostly junk yard parts?

generally it takes me approx 24 hrs labor to swap everything , wrecking yard parts or new work as long as they are the right parts , everything will bolt in with 2 exceptions , the hump can be screwed down or welded & the Z bar pivot on the frame needs to be welded in

what about a complete 5-spd set up from keisler? isnt everything needed in the kit to convert from a automatic to a 5-spd???

yup , if & when you get it & if it actually works right once it is in there & if you can handle the price tag Oh & the TKO is a weaker trans than the 833
