How do you remove this to get the steering shaft apart from the steering gear box.

Thanks

Are you referring to the Pitman Arm?  If so, I would like to know the best method of removing it too.  I would think that you would need to carefully clean the exposed sector shaft splines, loosen any set screws, and remove with a two or three jaw puller?  Somebody on here will know how this is done.

You need a pitman arm puller to get the pitman arm off.  I think he is referring to disconnecting the lower part of the column from the box.  There is a pin inside the coupler you have to bang out with a small punch then it slips right off.
