I'm trying to decide if I should buy a used steel crank for a $150.00 and have it ground for another $90.00. Or buy a new one. Anybody know of a good source for new 440 cranks? What the costs are?
I see them listed at 440source for $499.00 but don't know anything about them.  I've also heard to stay away from the brands that are made in China.

Guys ; 440Source cranks & rods are manufactured/machined in China.  ;)

really? i always thought they were made in here.....news to me, sorry for the mis-information
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

I would love to get a used 440 crank on $150 down here, no matter if casted or forged. Casted to keep my actually damper/pulley setup, or forged if crank does come with that.
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

Well, I miked the used steel crank I was looking at buying today. Supposed to have come out of a 69 station wagon. I couldn't believe the crank and rod journals are within factory specs so I went ahead and bought it.  :yesnod:
