I finally have a good start on my long overdue workshop wiring project, and had to improvise more work areas for the task.

So in addition to using a real workbench, a Daytona fender and a 1973 Charger SE have become temporary work tables...

Disclaimer: No Mopars or Mopar parts have been harmed during this project!  ;)

looks like a nice clean start.  put a coaster under that pepsi one can. :icon_smile_cool:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I wired my shop 6-8 months ago....... man it looks like the same site only I was using a 69 Charger trunk for a work table, lol.

Rule #1 in my garage: NOTHING gets set on the Charger, no matter what condition it's in.

Thanks... I'll watch where I put the Pepsi One cans...  ;)

Just had to be done... it took me 2 full days of work to clear enough area to do the initial wiring, the workshop is just too small!!!  :icon_smile_wink:

Yep, everyone makes rules for their own garages!

Yep, right on Bull.  Had a huge blow up in my house not one hour ago.  I went out to the garage to get something and there were a couple of loaves of bread on the hood of the car.  Apparently the fridge was full.  I don't care and I very loudly pointed out to her majessty that I don't store engine parts in the china cabinet and that nothing from inside the house should go into the garage without my okay and NOTHING but NOTHING is to EVER EVER EVER go onto the Charger!!
I get one area on the property that is all mine and that rule should be absolute.

Not sure that warranted a "huge blow up"... but thats your business...

Life does not work that way, you control your life & property... making & living by your rules.  Everyone else gets the same right to do so also!

I am not sure if you meant that my use of my property got you so upset that you needed to calm down, but if so...  :image_294343:

i agree with you and i didnt mean to offend im just saying that it bothers me  on my vehicles or any in my shop and the worst is when there is a car cover on its like salesmen and others think its a forse field and that they can set their books on em and whatever ....its just that you take the care to make something nice andyou dont want to watch someone ruin it

That's the very law I laid down too, dammit! :icon_smile_evil:

I think it lasted 9 days before I was using my Charger as a workbench. :-[
Ya know...if that hood wasn't so large & flat, it probably wouldn't be so tempting. :icon_smile_tongue: In fact, it got to the point where I had to actually make myself find somewhere else to toss things...now it's often on the vinyl top. ;D
I'm just glad the paint's still crap.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Thanks for the clarification 1hot68

On cars like my `Cuda I have the same rule!  Also, I never place anything heavy on any of the cars...  I hope to have the workshop organized in the next year or so, then there will be a stronger set of rules in place... and covers on all the cars, even the project cars!

DANG, that Cuda is mint!!!!

I like the fact that my GL is a driver and not a showcar, although I take it anyways. Everyone that comes to the house though wants to see it, so I open the garage and eventually end up starting it up(it's pretty loud)  Next thing I know people start touching this or that and i'm like what the heck man, where's the respect for somebody else's car????
It actually doesn't matter what you drive, most people just don't care or have a clue.  Even my chevy dually(2003, couldn't afford a new dodge),  Always back 40 taking up 2 spaces as to not get in anyone's way. put it in a regular space and I promise you there will be a ding or scratch, ask me how i know!!!!
ok, i'm done for now.

I've heard of people using the back end or even front ends of their favorite kind of car to turn into a personal desk.....kinda sounds like a good idea for the parts cars that are too far gone to rebuild.

Well, in my case, it isn't the first time and although bread may seem extreme, I know from past experience that within a week she'll be piling all kinds of crap on there.  There is a second fridge in the house but it's a little further to walk so it comes down to respect and laziness in this case.
My wife never gives me any grief about time or money spent on the car but to her, it is just about the stupidest thing I could be involved in.  She tolerates it and that's cool but if all I ask is that one single area of the home be mine, then it isn't an unreasonable request or an unwarranted response.

can i get a...AMEN!  And that's why i'm single!!!

Well, it's not all bad.  Cars are only a small part of my life and I know a lot of people who have spouses that avidly support their interests.

CB

My rules aren't that strict. I love my car... but not that much.
Same like letting someone else driving your Charger. No prob for me.
Mmm  :-\ sounds like I don't really respect her.

I do not let anyone else drive my car, not because I don trust them, but IF something did  happen I don't want it to be because of them. I also understand that other people could cause an accident, and if that was the case I would know exactly what happened, and be closer to the person responsable! :flame: I also have the problem with people puting crap on my car, but instead of me getting mad their crap will just find the floor. I have been guilty of using my car as a work bench, but it is my car and I am the one who pays for it! If I do happen to put stuff on it I am damn sure it wont mess up the car! Hmmmmm maybe I should just pile my crap on the floor too... :scratchchin:

Ya know...I have a similar set of ground rules for my Charger as well.   But...my wife respects the car as much as I do, and loves it as much as I do.  Sometimes I think she worries about it more than I do.   She's always telling neighborhood kids....."Stay away from that car!"  So...it's good to have somebody to switch shifts on standing guard...lol.....My kids  have that same respect for not only my car, but for other peoples as well....Ya gotta teach them young!!!
