Is there such a thing as a Charger fender cover?

I got a fender cover from Summit for cheap but I just got to wondering if there is one out there somewhere that had the Charger script on it. If not that would be a cool DC.com item to sell along with t-shirts, don't you think? :shruggy:

:2thumbs: I'd like to get one of those.

But how to they work on black paint? :scared:

I've only seen covers with Hemi and Mopar on them when I was searching.

Here's an idea: a lot of sign shops and novelty printers put logos and mottos on the foam can holders for business promotions. Maybe a shop can take a Dodge and/or Charger logo and drop the "picture" onto a sheet of neoprene. Might not be much more than the pre-made catalog items, and certainly one of a kind if you can add your name, nickname, or motto.

:scratchchin:  There's a place not too far from me that does custom work with leather, and well really just about anything but they specialize in leather working. I wonder what they could come up with..

I picked up a  couple of those soft "grippy" fender covers with the script on them at MOPARfest - probably in 2005. I still see that vender there and other shows around here.

They work great.

Here's a link to something that appears to be the exactly same stuff, but I'm certain it wasn't the same vendor

Edit: Here's another that shows the Charger logo'd version. http://www.canadianrods.com/FGDetails.asp?item=94
I got one black and one red one.
I'll go check mine to see if they are the original fender gripper - they may be and I just bought them from a Fender Gripper dealer.

What is it about the material that keeps the tools in place?

dodgecharger-fan

The surface has a finish to it that is soft and rubbery.

It works too. I once dropped a wrench and reacted quickly to retrieve it. I passed the wrench on my way down to get it as it stuck to the cover. I'll admit it was a total fluke that it hit in just the right way to stay on the side of the cover - near the top of course - but I was surprised at how it hung on. Looking at the pictures on that site and even the demo I have seen at shows, one would think that the tool would need to be carefully placed in order to hang on to the cover.

That surface makes it easy to keep them clean too. Just wipe it down with a damp rag.

One thing I will warn against: check the underside before putting them on your fender to make sure it's clean. I haven't had a problem yet, but the underside is also grippy to hang on to the fender. You wouldn't want to put a dirty fender cover on your nice paint.

But a good wind can peel them up off the fender and flip them in to your engine bay, or on the ground. A nice addition would be to sink some magnets into the material on the bottom corners.

:brickwall: I just realized that the MOPAR cover on the Snake Oyl site was clickable and the Charger logo'd covers are there - the back and the red ones are exactly what I have.
