the same as removing any other mopar k frame. pop the torsion bars out and 4 bolts on the k frame itself, and pop the ball joints. thats all that holds them in.

can you take the k, torsion bars and the cross-member that they go into out all at the same time?

that I havent ever tried. on a 73-74 with the rubber isolated torsion bar mount, the best i can say is maybe. but i'd still make sure to "unload" the T-bars, they got a whole lot of tension on them.

Yes for a while you keep straight the T bars to save from damage.

About torsions bars tension: is oposite between them so IF WERE posible remove without release tension will be great, won't hurt anything remove the complete assembly  for a while everything is removed at same time and straight too.

HOWEVER that is just theoric since is not really possible making it without release tension, because YOU NEED to remove the upper control arm plate from K member to get removed the K member. This plate with the upper arm is OVER the frame rail once bolted. Remove that plate without release tension IS DANGEROUS to your self and the rest of assembly, because the rest of assembly will just POP OUT REALLY HARD with the T bar tension. Upper control arm assembly is what gets the assembly in place AGAINST the T bar tension.

So conclusion: Once you release tension from Tbars, remove 4 5/8" bolts from each upper control plates, and of course, brake lines and steering column shaft from box, everything will work fine to remove the complete assembly with rear crossmember included.

i have already got all of the tension off of the bars. the adjusters are screwed all of the way out. if the wheels are off of it on jack stands they shouldn't be any spring action to it. should they?

with T bars tension completely released, then no more spring action. everything safe.
