Yeah, he'll really be missed!  Did you get to read where he wrote a letter before his execution, calling his followers to embrace the brotherly spirit that is being created in their motherland and also not to hate the US and US led forces.  His lawyer says that it is an actual letter written by Saddam.  He also goes on to say that he is sacrificing his body because that's what God wants him to do and that he will be joining the other martyrs.  What a load of B@#$S^&*!  Wish they had done something worse than hanging though, like having him drawn and quartered!  Now that would make him suffer!

I'd love to see the video of him doing the "Pee Wee Herman" big shoe dance on the end of a rope!  They should have dropped a few hand grenades down the rathole they found him in.

IF they have a good hangman the rope with break his next and that will be it. If not, then he will strangle to death while kicking, be cut down and given a reprieve, or shot while dangling. I used to have a book that taught hangmen certain tricks such as if the prisoner weighs X the drop must be only so far such as Y! Too little and the rope won't break the next, too much and the hand could come off. Also the noose must have 6 winds in it and be place behind the left ear. The rope is also a blend of cotton and hemp I believe it is but don't quote me on that!

Given this trial etc. was "supposedly" done with U.S. "intervention", I have to wonder how real the execution was/is. I'm NOT trying to start any BS just given that we don't actually get to see them hang "him". I know there are a lot of quotation marks around words, it should be obvious why. It would not surprise me that the man hung was NOT Hussein, but a double. Seems we have ways to extract information from him and he would be more valuable alive. If we have already done so, then I suppose it is a "real" hanging. Oh well, I'll get flamed for this and possibly kicked off the site for inciting trouble, but it's my way of wondering what's real and what's not.

It wouldn't be a fit of fantasy for that to happen! Both Saddam and Hitler were known to have doubles that people couldn't tell the difference. In one book it talked about Hitler and his doubles and the only way to tell was the length of his ear lobes.

I'm pretty sure it was him......The truth is...that he was not actually handed over to Iraqis  until his trip to the gallows.   There was speculation that he was handed over earlier in the day,  but that turned out to be speculation and not truth.  Too many people wanted justice served.
