I bought some parts for my car and I though I'd share a few photos with you folks.  The purpose of my trip yesterday was to get some tinted glass for my car.  I left the house at 6:00 AM and 1000 km's later, I was home about 4:00 PM.     The donor car was a '69 Charger SE and is the same car I scored a bunch of other goodies off of back in August 2005.  I shared those photos also in this thread:

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,2089.msg26111.html#msg26111

I ended up buying the backglass, both quarter glasses and two doors (which turned out to be in surprisingly good shape   :punkrocka:  ) for parts, plus a handful of clips, screws and fasteners.  It's a good thing I left the child seats at home as I barely managed to get all of this in the back of my Wife's Pacifica.

I did get the VIN and Data Tag information for the '69 Registry and since the driver's door is off of a '70, there is a VIN number for Chris & Don at the '70 Registry.

I've seen worse looking resto projects.   Was it alot worse in person than in the pictures?

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store NOT a government agency!

I agree that could be saved, hell it would be a star on the hlpg lot.

That's another fake fender tag!!  :icon_smile_angry:

...oh wait, this isn't an eGouge thread. My bad. :icon_smile_tongue:

Yeah, so how bad is the rest of that car?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I would love to find a parts car somewhere, especially for that driver's door, nice score.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

Shakey

With regards to what shape the car is in, I'm sure you've all heard the term "never judge a book by its cover".   :yesnod:

Well, this is a prime example.  This old girl has lived all of her life in MI, or so I am told, and old man winter did not show any mercy.   :rotz:

Let's put it this way, the leaf spring shackles are in the trunk and the carpet is being held in place by the drive shaft.

I considered buying the car in August 2005 as either a parts car or a possible resto project but common sense got the best of me.

Sounds like a candidate for a tube chassis and some steamroller rear tires.

Dodge Don

Thanks Mike!

Looks like you scored pretty good......and the parts aint bad either  ;)

You know if I see those 70 doors on your 69 you'll never hear the end of it  :smilielol:  Next thing you'll be getting one of those loop bumpers I know you've been yearning for  :pity:

Chris G.

Thanks Mike! Have a beer on me, and charge it to Don's account.
