OK, I have replaced the Coil, the Volt Regulator, the Resistor, all the fuses, and the Ignition switch, but it wont start! It turns over! I have been turning it over with a screw driver on the fire wall, but nothing happens when I turn the key on the column. I have rewired the car, and the column. It also has a new ignition switch. I m worried that it could be the electronic ignition box on the fire wall. Is there anything else you could think of? I would like to avoid replacing that box because I am putting it back to points! There is no power in the dash! :flame: ANy ideas?

Neutral safety switch? Hows your fusible link?

try playing with the shifter going from park to 1 then start in either park or neutral

Mean 318

Fuseable link is good... No luck with the shifter... >:(

Chryco Psycho

check the contacts in the plug at the bottom of the steering column they could be loose or corroded

Do you have power at the red wire going into the ignition switch?

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

OK guys, I have been busy, I checked the power at the coil, I only have .06 So something aint good. Any ideas of what it could be?

Ball up your fist and give the firewall connector a good, solid WHUMP! It usually takes little more than that to get mine going...

bad ballast not failled but with too high resistance

break out the test light and go to town. Get a wiring diagram (ive only got 3rd gen ones, but somebody on here has to have one) and start checking at all the points. It could be a break in a wire somewhere, it could be a faulty ballast resister, or that electronic ignition box.

Just curious, why go back to points? E.I. is alot nicer. IMHO.

I got it!  ;D Only took  a month.... It was a wire
