This was a real pain for me. If you plan to DRIVE it often you're only option is State Farm, they'll insure it for a fair amount with no limited milage. Yes, other companys will insure it but DO NOT LET THEM FOOL YOU, you will be insured for "real value" or some buzz word for "an old 30 year old car" I had Geico for a year, thought  it was insured at the appraised value of $27,000 then found out while renewing it was only covered for $100!!!! What I had been lead to believe was wrong! always get value in writing.

Since mine are in storage right now I switched to Grundy - $55,000 for 2 cars ('70 &'72) for $350 or somthing like that a year...BUT cars must be in locked gargae, Alarmed and driven no more than 1500 miles a year and that is ONLY to and from events and shows. Most collector policys are about the same.

Good Luck!

I've had Grundy for years.  I have to disagree on a couple it things.   There is no mileage restrictions, the cars must be garaged at the policy's mailing address but there's no requirement for an alarm and I can find no restrictions on my policy where I can drive my car.  I would recommend them

Hagarty. You can drive as much as you want. You have to be with the car at all times unless it is in a locked and sucure bldg. I have 3 on my policy for 300 a year and insured for 52K total.........whoops - I sold my 57 Chevy yesterday so knock off 12K on the policy and a 100 a year.

I have American Hobbyist for 300.00/year agreed coverage of 25k (it's in 'driver' condition) and no mileage restriction. Only restriction is that it can't be my primary vehicle.

I've used Condon & Skelly, (an underwriter or agent for MetLife Auto, & formerly for The St. Paul Insurance Co.) since about 1988. It's antique/classic car insurance & has some of the typical limitations on the usage, like mileage being 2500 per car, not driven to work, & locked in a garage. They now have street rod coverage & allow modifications to the cars. I've never had to file a claim so I don't know how good or bad they will be at handling one, but I've never heard anyone complain about them either.

Rates hardly ever changed unless I increased the car's value. What I have right now is the following.

'68 Charger (project) value at $6500+/-
'69 Satellite Convertible, value at $7000+/-
'70 Road Runner, value at $20,000
'71 Scamp, value at $6500+/-
'71 Barracuda (project) value at $8500

The total premium for $48,500 worth of coverage is $406 for the year, & a no brainer if you ask me.
