Can we do it this year? Let me know if you need $$ I'd love to have a spot just for us "Cool People"

Doesn't it depend on how many you have pre-registered as part of your group?

Troy

They will give you one free with 25+ registered cars OR you can rent a tent. I have gone with the Cuda-Challenger group for the last two years and they rent their own. The first year we were allowed to park next to the tent (kind of the idea of having a group tent I thought) but last year they made everyone park in their designated rows (by judging class). This meant that only 3 or 4 cars were by the tent and everyone else was scattered all over. At least the tent was in the middle of the e-body section but it made many people upset.

Having said all that, I would love to get a tent but I'm not the greatest organizer of these things. I think that if we bundled the various sites together we could get 25 cars easily but maybe it's simpler to just pay for one and not stress about who's coming. I will see what I can find out.

Troy

Standing by...let me know if you need any help, sure would be nice if we could park by tent though!

A tent is a fantastic idea and a great place to meet other members.  The most the cuda site has had for pre-registration was 16 I believe.  No doubt the two sites together could probably come up with 25 members and secure a free tent but it sure would be nice if both sites could get a free tent this year.  Maybe should start a poll and see how many are planning on pre-registering for the show??

Ohh really?  Sweet!    That could help a bunch...would also be good if you can get your car there this year as well!

I dont mind parking in the fun field with the class....a tent would be cool as well though

I tried to to organize us a couple of years ago on the old board but could not get enough members to commit.
I talked to the lady at Carlisle who handled the tent gig. As Troy mentioned you need 25 members to pre-register to reserve a tent. The other option was if not enough members pre-registered was to rent a tent.( I believe it was $240.00), and if enough members did show up, even if you didn't pre-register, Carlisle would refund you the money once you reached the 25 member count.

Mopar440+6, I believe you just unofficially volunteered to became the official tent master. ;)

I'd be interested as well.
Will CARS be allowed to park under the tent as well? I've seen many display tents on the fun field with cars parked under them. I'm getting a little tired of sitting on the fun field all weekend long. Would be nice to have a special display area for some of the members' cars here.

I wish it wasn't over 2,000 miles away.

Just leave earlier so you can get there.  :D

I was giving some thought to bringing my camping trailer & setting it up on two vending spaces. Use one for the trailer, & one space for a free standing, 10'x 20' canopy to put some chairs & a folding table under for whoever wants to sit down & hang out. I have a few parts I may sell, but the idea is to get the space for the trailer to camp out for a few days.

I've never been to this show.  You guys are talking about the all Chrysler show July 6-8 correct?  not the spring or fall show?

http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/

Yikes that will be 1,046 miles for me.  one way.. :o  So 2,092 miles round trip, 8.5 mpg in my 68, 246 gallons of gas, at $3.00 per gal, is $738 + food and Knob Creek = $1000 :yesnod:  D'oh!  Sorry i dont think i can make it. :rotz:

The tent is not big enough to have members park under . . you could get two cars under it and thats about it.  It is like a home base for all the members to meet.  Here is a pic of the cuda-challenger tent to give you an idea. . .  I just found out last year you can rent tables too!  Cuda-Challenger group has a barb-b-que for lunch, coolers full of drink and music.  Great for a little breather from the hot sun!

Pocket thunder, yes this is the July show we're talkin' about.  Some members like Chryco travel thousands of miles to visit this show!  Its over 1000 miles for me total but worth it.  Best Mopar car show around IMO.

Well perhaps to start the count for our official "offical coordinator" 440+  ;) Moparsuebear and I will be there with both our cars...so that's 2.

Oh, and 440+6 or whoever takes the ball on this, we plan to arrive Thursday (coming from Alaska) so if there is any early set-up needed count us in.

AK

Mopar440+6

Ill be glad to be the "official coordinator," however I will have to ask each of you arriving on Thursday night to come to the Mopar Rebellion Kick-off to Carlisle show. ;) (Details on that later.) I will be heavily involved in helping with the MR car club stuff but I'll do what I can to help get the ball rolling on this.

As Bill440RT said the tent is not big enough for members to park under, it is more of a gathering area. This past year the car club had a tent. It was pretty much just the meeting place for the members. We kept food and drinks at the tent (hows $0.50 for a soda and $2.00 for a burger sound :icon_smile_big: ) and generally hung out there but any show cars were parked in their respective show field.

And Chris, unless I win the lottery my car will not be making it to the show :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Thanks Sir!

Gathering spot/place to hang out is all I was looking for. It would be a plus if we can all park around it!

Dodge rebellon Thursday???? We're there! :icon_smile_tongue:

Chris G.

Count me in. I would think guys from cuda-challenger and the '70 board would also be game. All you need to do is list this site as your club and that's it, right?

AKcharger

I confirmed that you CAN park by the tent (not in it) although the Carlise rep said that you may not do as well in the fun field judging. Hopefully we'll be able to be near the B-Bodys if we get out applicaton in soon.

440+6 you have e-mail...

Did you get that in writing? Several attendees had a fun time last year arguing with the parking nazis. Explaining that we were there to be with friends and NOT to have the cars judged didn't change anything.

I've been working a ton of hours but I'll try to get organized this weekend.

BUMP.

I just got my comfirmation for my spot  in the fun field. I put down DC.com for my club affiliation.
Only 55 days left to Carlisle. If we're going to try and get a tent we should start getting a head count now.

Please see the "Official Carlisle Thread" so we can get an official count. But use this thread for general Carlisle discussion. I'm pulling what strings I can to get the tent located as close as possible to the B-Body section. :icon_smile_wink:

If you've got questions PM me! Thanks guys!

With as much sheetmetal as you had to replace after the last incident I can understand why you won't have the car. :icon_smile_wink:
