valves

hey people , i did checkes the valves off my 318 and i noticed some small holes on 4 off the valvestem's, onlu exhaust valves. ( pitting ?)

what can cause that,and do i need to replace the valves?

what else to check when the heads are off?

also the rocker arms have some freeplay, what is the maximum free play?

looks like 1-1,5 mm freeplay now....

tip wear is normal ion some high mileage hard use stuff. it can be cured by any machine shop.
the rockers can be replaced cheap enough as can the shafts.
