72 beep!

i just took out my first loan to buy a 340 4speed 69 dart, but that fell through, so before i took the money back to the bank i found a guy with a 68 sport satelite 383 floor shift auto with buckets. the car is blue and is 100% original. all numbers match and is in good shape other than usual rust in lower quarters. the guy had Galen decode it and showed me the print out, everything is legit, it has the broadcast sheet and is in the registry! the guy wants $7,000 for the car and i am not sure if it is worth it or not. i would like to turn a buck on the thing but i am not sure if it is possible with a sport satelite?  what do you guys think   ???

Buy it becuase YOU want it,not becuase you are wanting to "flip it" Especially with money with a loan you took out.Just be careful! :yesnod:
1971 Charger R/T   GY9 Dark Gold Metallic, V1Y Gold Top, GY4 Light Gold Interior- A/C, Rimblow, PW, Front Disc, AM-FM, Tach, Light Package, Slotted Tips, Trailer Tow Package(MIA)and a few other odds and ends...including a luggage rack!

Ghoste

Especially if it has rust showing.  You don't know what's hiding and it will cost as much to restore a Satellite as it will to do a GTX.  The final value may show a somewhat larger difference in the numbers.

RD

not to sound snotty, but just because GG has put some legitimacy to the car does not make it that much more desireable.  just like ghoste stated, the restoration will cost the same as a GTX, but you can guarantee the GTX will have a higher value in the end.

I'd say  if you are looking for a car in particular,  don't settle for  "this will do"  Take that cash and search for what YOU want.  For example...If  I'm wanting to buy a '69 Charger,  but that deal fell through, so I ran across a Satellite for sale.   NOPE  I'll keep looking for the car I want.  I wouldn't get opinions on it either.  If YOU want it....grab it.  I'm just saying don't settle for something less as opposed for something in particular you are looking for.

I agree with every one above. If you're only trying to flip it it's not worth it. If you wanted a 69 340 4 speed Dart, keep looking.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

If I were you, I'd walk away from it, its a Sat. not a GTX or Thunder Chicken (aka) RoadRunner I don't mush more money being made off the car vs. whats being asked for it right now, 7 grand. I would concentrate on that Duster you have and show me some photos of it with the centerlines you just got for it! ha ha.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.
