Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any input on this. There are some weird dents on my driver's side inner fender that I really havn't thought about. That is, until I saw a Charger on Ebay with almost identical dents. Here is a picture of my Charger and then the one on Ebay. I figured it was a weird coincidence for the same type of thing to be on two cars, so I figure the same thing caused them on both. Does anyone know what caused this? Anyone else seen this damage on another car?

Charger-Bodie

most likely the car hit something with the fender and it tried to take the apron back with it but the shock tower brace didnt want to move so viola wrinkles!

Yeah, that's what I thought at first, and I guess that's probably it, but they really look like something struck the fender downwards.

what about        trying to drive the pin out of the steering column coupling  ,( with the engine in) that has sized in tight , with a steel punch  ducktaped  in the square socket end of a 3/8 dive long extention bar   hitting the other end with a hammer  and misses a few times ,  :shruggy:    a few of them dents are too far forward though :-\
i'm going in to detail hear because thats how i got mine out , but  just a  light tap removed mine

Your's is a beauty compared to mine.  I think my car was built Monday A.M. after a holliday weekend.  Where the top of the fender rolls down towards the frame rail, there is a HUGE gap on mine.  You can tell they just wacked the crap out of it to go together to weld.  There is a crease on mine that runs from the firewall to about the center of my shock brace.  Had a few experts look at it and they all said it was factory work.  Something you might want to look at also is the difference between the left and right sides.  My curved panel where the shock sets in, below where your circle is drawn, is welded about 3/4in higher on one side than the other.  my car looked like it was in a hell of a wreck, but put it on a machine and is dead on.  They just did a poor job assembling my car.  I wouldn't be surprised that they weren't wacked down on your car from the factory so the shock brace could be welded up.  I would look and see if there is any evidence of someone rewelding that brace.

I'd guess a hammer caused that. LEON.

Maybe some poor guy trying to work on the car before you owned it and his wife came to give him grief that he's spending too much time working on it and not spending enough time with her so he picked up his rachet and beat the daylights out of it in frustration?

My guess is that someone didn't like the way the fenders lined up and tried beating the inner fender wall support down.

It may be created by a dingbat who thought he could remove the fender and hood and hinges at the same time...gravity will do that.
The hinges could have made those dents with the weight of the hood slamming down.

:smilielol:  Hey as long as we all learn from it right, like I haven't tried to remove a door alone, with no support...I really thought I had it   :icon_smile_big:
