Just a little update, now that I finally have internet again...

Powerlines were down everywhere! My CAR was covered in half inch thick ice. We've been without power for 2 days, then we got it back last night, and then we lost it again about 2 hours ago. Right now we're running on backup generator. Haven't had internet since the storm struck, either. I've been going through withdrawls here!

Took these yesterday, and today....

My radio antenna (for my non-working radio...)

The entire drivers side of the car is covered in 1/2 inch thick ice.  So was the top, and the windshields.  I had to get in through the passenger side, and then run the car for a half hour before the interior warmed up enough for me to get the ice off the windows, so I could go home.  Yes, the storm struck as I was at a friends house.  Had to stay the night there, actually, because of the damn ice storm.

This was taken the day after I got home.  The thinner layer is from the freezing rain we got the 2nd night, which only added to the problems...

And a picture of how thick the ice on my car was, and why it took me almost an hour to clear it off enough for me to get home.

Pictures of one of my dad's ham radio antennas.  The weight of the ice so heavy, that it bent both of the steal poles permanently.

This piece fell off of one of my dad's other antennas.  You can see how thick this shit is, and see why so many power poles and trees just snapped under the weight.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

You win, I'd rather shovel the white crap than deal with that. :icon_smile_tongue:

We've had a lot of fog here lately, at night. This morning, I took this pic of all the ice crystals that stuck to my antenna from the fog.
I'd rather deal with this, than yours! ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

So was this at a girl(friend)s house?   :shruggy:   Maybe the storm paid off for you.... :boogie:

Freezing rain is a pain, snow isn't that bad but I hate ice.  Lucky for me, it reinforces my decision to stay here in Florida where we don't worry about ice and snow.  Don't you guys have a garage to park in?  get those toys a garage to live in.  I'm in North Florida where it does get below freezing occasionally, but almost never worry about ice, and its only snowed once in 20 years.

Still no winter here and I'm in northern Ontario where its normally -35c , tonight its going down to +9c . I knew I jinxed it when I bought a new snowblower. The snowmobile dealers are hurting and alot of people are dumping their machines.

I have needed a new snowblower for several years now. Each winter I think I will have to break down and get a new one. Each winter comes and goes with little to no snow. If this is global warming I think I like it!

I have been able to ride the Moto X  & Street bike all winter long here in Cleveland. It finally snowed a little bit today. If the Charger was done I would have drove it as well. No salt on the roads here! Bin' a very mild winter here so far.

Jacksonville Florida, it gets cold enough to snow here, but cool air sucks the moisture out of the air evidently.  Its snowed here once since i moved here, and come close a few other times.
