is there a simple formula to figure rough 1/4 mile times based on what a car runs in the 1/8? a tech here at my new dealer ship runs a lot of 1/8 mile drags, and i am just curious and to lazy to check on google!

Andy,

Multiply the 1/8th mile ET by 1.57....that should get you close.  ;)

so the jack ass that tells me his car runs 9 second 1/8th times has a slow car!! thanks ron

The 1.57 factor works pretty well for a car that has a decent 60 ft.

On a high horsepower car that won't hook (like mine), it's pretty conservative because it doesn't factor in the top end charge. All your traction issues are dealt with by the 1/8 mile mark.

Andy  You have a way with words buddy !

Ya, the 9.0 1/8th mile is ~ a 14 sec 1/4 mile using the formula....14.10 to be exact. It's no barn burner, lol !
