400 engine compartment

Is this the correct aircleaner for a 400 magnum? Weren't the engine suppose3d to be orange?

I thought high performance engine orange.

many threads on that but it depends on the year of the car.  My 68 has a 383 4 b and has always been Blue.

That looks correct to me.  I am no expert but in 72 I believe the block should be blue.  I know mine is and it has never been touched.

Air cleaner is orange but pics make them oftenly look red. Two kinds of air cleaners... some oval snorkels and some are square, dunno why.

-agreed. The engines became corporate blue (not ford corporate blue) in 1972 with the orange air cleaner. There were variances in the orange from batch to batch, much like street hemi orange - differnt batches.

Allen, in '68 a 383 should have been painted turquoise.  Yours is correct the way it was when I saw it at CudaKen's shop.

IS REALLY and extremelly VERY SIMILAR to Ford Blue. In fact my engine is painted Ford Blue, since there is no way to find Chrysler blue down here. If you look pics at my sig, I took a pic of my engine bay, and is hard ( if you do ) to find they are REALLY different.
