Will any 727 bigblock trans work for my 70 C500...

I will be looking to buy a 727 trans for my 70 Charger 500 which originally came with an 383 auto on the floor 727 trans.
Will any bigblock 727 auto work under there?
Does anyone sell the linkage for the shifter to trans or the shifter mechanism itself as i do not have any of this stuff?

Or are there any overdrive trans or any other trans I should consider besides the 727??
The car is getting a 440.

If your Charger has a big block, then any big block 727 should work.  A small block 727 will not fit on your car.  Unless of course you have a small block in your 70 500.  The two 727s have a different bolt pattern as far as I know.

If you're going to use the factory floor shift linkage be sure the selected trans has the bosses on the bottom of the tailhousing for the linkage bracket. Some earlier passenger and many truck units don't have the boss.
