69 super bee dash pad,new pad or cap?

Is it easy changing the complete dashtop one the dash is out if i buy a repop?or is a dash cap the way to go?

I'd go repop.  But, when you say dash is out, do you mean just the instrument cluster or the entire dash frame?

well its not out yet but it will be soon when i do the tear down for resto

It's not too bad to get it out then.  It can be done with the frame installed but it almost needs a contortionist with small hands to reach up in there.

Dash caps are ok for a driver car if you are on a budget.  I had one in my first 73 Charger and it looked better than the cracked up dash but didnt fit perfectly, was hard to get it to adhere to the old dash (black dash pads get HOT) and it eventually did start splitting up the sides.  If youre going for a restoration, id just get the real thing.

I have a cap. It was meant to be temporary, but I am in no hurry to change it. It looks better than the reproductions. Clean original or pro restored is best, but the cap is not that bad either.Especially if you have a black interior.
