a vehicle is not worth the exact same price everywhere you go. Where Dads_69 is at and where DKN are located the prices are probably quite abit off. I wouldnt pay more than 800 bucks for it here, and thats if it ran real good and had minimal rust. I'd go down from that price.
Now if I were in texas I bet it would be worth more than here. or maybe not. Either way before you jump down peoples throats saying they are taking "wild a$$ guesses" maybe you need to pull your head out of your ass and realize that prices flucuate depending on location.

Btw, maybe if your so concerned, you can go do what every one else here does who doesnt expect everyone to do their work for them and go check www.kbb.com or www.nadaguide.com

Silver R/T

Blue book isnt always accurate, I usually do not go buy it. But even then its worth $1500 (fair) to $2300 (excellent). Prices can't be very far even state by state, so I dont see your point. A good truck is a good truck anywhere.
Some members on here are so stuck up in their ass with "mopar" that they do not realize there are other cars that are just as good or even better than your rusty Charger project sitting in your shed for past 10 years while you're "restoring" it. Just something to think about guys. Rant off.

I paid 700 for my 79 Bronco here in ND last fall. In Indiana that truck would get 1500 bucks. In nevada it would get maybe 500. So maybe if you opened your eyes you would see my point, instead of trying to be a argumentative little twerp.
I also think blue book will be more accurate for a mid 80s ford truck than asking a bunch of DODGE guys what a old beater ford truck is worth. Hey if you think its worth 2500, then by all means, go pay 2500 for it.

I'm also certain that prices from state to state do make a big difference. Lets think of this. We'll use my 84 dodge power ram 4x4. New engine, good working trans and 4 wheel drive. Its worth 400 to me, since thats what i have into it (just the cost of the engine) now if i were to sell it here, it'd be worth 7-800 bucks. If i were to sell it in california it wouldnt be worth the scrap metal its made of, because the emissions testers would laugh thier ass off when i rolled it into the shop for testing. I wouldnt get 300 for it there. so theres a 500 dollar difference between North Dakota and California. That's less of a difference than what was said between Alaska and where the DYN guy is which I think is New york or something out that way. I honestly cant remember wheres hes from, but im fairly certain its not alaska.

You post a description like this:

with no photos and you have the nerve to say this to the folks that took the time to reply to your question:

You need a few lessons on couth my friend.  And if you don't know what that is, take the time to look it up on the internet because I can't picture too many people responding to your questions anymore if you're gonna respond with comments like I pointed out above.

While you're learning about doing your own research on the www, find out yourself just how much the 1985 Ford PU is worth.  I wouldn't bother posting it here because I don't think anyone really cares about a piece of shit 20 year old truck that in reality is probably worth about $138.00 CDN per tonne!

we tire of being asked opinions and having them thrown back into our faces by punk kids who think they know everything about life.

if you're tired of it why don't you find another task to do and just sign off this site and dont come back until you think you can find someone else with your knowledge (or lack of it) People here are to find answers not to deal with hostile personalities.

Pretty much anything that's in one piece and runs and drives is worth a thousand bucks. Add a few hundred for 4X4 and go from there.

Silver R/T

4x4 is in demand in WA state with its winters, especially if its truck than can haul parts or tow Charger, etc.

i don't agree with the fact that you rip on guys for giving their opinion.. the first 2 guesses were not far off. $600 and $1000 for a 21 year old ford beater is not exactly an insult. or a mopar biased opinion. i actually bought an 85 ford extended cab with no rust and a great running 351 about a year ago. guess what i paid??? exactly $600. kept it 4 weeks and sold it for $800. it was a pile of doggie doo. just old and tired. just because it is a truck and has 33's doesn't make it worth $2000+. so in short, i think i agree with the first opinions. this is not a mopar biased opinion. i don't think it's worth over a $1000 unless it's extremely nice.

well even if you part it out you can make well over $1500 just in parts. Guy selling it makes it sound like its in good shape and 4WD works good. I wouldn't mind something newer but prices here are outrageous. And don't even look at toyotas, even 2wd 99 would go for around $15,000. While I can get turbodiesel ford for much less, more power and 4x4.

Okay Silver, it sounds to me like with all of these posts you are trying to justify paying a higher price than what the guys on here are guessing it is worth. So how much is the guy asking?

Silver R/T

He wants $2800, Im not gonna say if its low or high. Im still waiting for the pics. Of course if you go to local car dealer Im sure he'd be selling same truck for way more. I sold my 99 s10 with only 45k miles for $4K but its not comparable cause it was only 2wd, 2.2L 4cyl mini truck.
