1966 Hemi Charger

Sirs, I am trying to get the tach to operate on my 4 speed Hemi Charger. Can you direct me to any information? I have been trying for 6 months to get info. I have purchased a new tach pack and plugged it in and still no results. When the NOS one was plugged you can hear a slight buzzing thru the speaker. Could that just be a bad ground? I did only hook-up a jumper to the pack and to the metal on the dash... Can you post here and e-mail me @Ettm5@Bellsouth.net

Jon, was the tach operating before?  Who did you purchase the tach sender from?  There are some rebuilt ones out there and some junk ones.  Have you tried the tech forums at the 66-67 forum?

The tach was not operating when I purchased the car. They said there was continuity throughout but not after it went onto the smaller pack under the glove box. They purchased a used one old stock and I purchased another actually used old stock. I am stumped.   Jon

So it's getting a signal from the coil to the tach sender, but not from the sender to the guage?
