I'm going to buy a vac pump to help with my power brakes, is there anything I should look for or stay away from?

I have a Vacuum pump installed in my 70 and it is from Stainless Steel brakes. I also have a vollumn canister attached to it. I have had no problems with this set up.

Mine was from Master Power Brakes 4yrs now works great.
