A Very Special Christmas Present

70 Charger RT

I just had the best ever christmas present given to me by my older brother.  A 1970 Charger R/T!  Here's the scoop.  Back in 1970, my brother bought a new alpine white longitudinal strip column shift 70 RT.  It was the car I took my road test in when I got my drivers license.  He sold it after a while to a local dude.  That car really went through the wringer.  It was submerged in a ditch, hit in the quarter in Mexico in its early years amoung other driving the ba**s off of it.  After years of trying to buy it back from the owner dude (I'm going to fix it up some day), he finally gave in last week.  It's a major project, but it has a lot of sentimental value.  Right now it's buried under 4 feet of snow and in the spring I'll be making a trip to pick it up to see exactly what I'm in for project wise!  I've attached a few pics of it that I took of it in 1970.  Notice in the rear window of one picture.  "Frost shield" come to mind?  Sorry for rambling on but I had to tell someone.

That's really cool, can't beat that Christmas present! :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Thanks Magnumcharger.  I just may need the hood and fenders.  I'll let you know when I pull it out and get it home and you can come and see it.  I'm still at the same place in St. Albert.  My phone number is: 459-5926

I want to fix it up to it's original condition which had alpine white exterior, blue interior, column shift, stand alone bucket seats with no console or no buddy seat (just the hump), woodgrain dash, 70 Charger 14" wheelcovers.  I even have the original sales receipt from the dealership that my brother gave me a few years ago.  Once I get pictures of it's current state, I'll be sure to post them.  I know how everyone loves pictures here.

Randall,
I may swing by your place next summer for a look at your "new" Charger, if you have it by then.
If it turns out as good as your last one, it's going to be a looker!

If all goes well, I may have my '68 Charger R/T on the road and ready for the show season by next summer.
Meanwhile, I've got the Deora project in a snowbank until spring, and I'm building the new bodypanels over the Christmas break.
Doug Lepak finished the Steering wheels for both of my projects. And they're unbelievable to see!

I was under the impression you were going to build a Turbine-powered car of some sorts, is that true?

Robin. Doug Lepak (better known as the Steering Wheel Guy for those of you that may have heard of him) was telling me about your Deora.  I talked to him last summer about it when I first put my Charger RT on the market.  I didn't realize it was you that had the Deora.  The turbine car I want to build (eventually) is put a small auxilliary power turbine unit from a helicopter into a 28 model A.  That's after my 70 RT is done of course.  I have to get my shop up before I start on anything.  I have some land up near Riviere Qui Barr 15 minutes north west of St. Albert.  I'll be heading to California in a week or two to buy a 69 RT SE that I will be riding next summer (gotta drive somethin, right?).  For those of you who haven't seen my old RT yet, I've attached a pic.
