Has anyone ever painted a Diecast car to match their own Charger? Are they easy to disassemble? How about getting different wheels on them? Can it be done? I would need to find a model that has Outlaw 1 wheels or Centrelines on to match my car

If you didn't want to do it yourself, you could check out John Fox at:

Looks a little pricey, but for a top-notch job EXACTLY the way you want it...

those cars on the link are nice and pricey i bet too but i noticed the last one the Chally SE with green stripes ain't got the SE badges and yes you need them stinking things...

Try Johnny Lightning. About 10 years ago I sent them a pic of a 73' SE that I had and sure enough they made one of my car and used it in the Muscle Car series.I wrote a letter and sent a picture. A few months later I received one in the mail.  JL was looking for Mopars to do their Muscle Car & Mopar Muscle Series. I just got lucky on that one.
If you are good with the tools just get a nice sharp drill bit and drill out the rivets, then match the rivets at the hardware store. If you prep the body and air brush it it will turn out sweet. Here is a pic of a Hot Wheels 68' Charger Red Line that I rattle caned!

68 in die cast must be hard to find, I have been searching the swap meets and yet to find one.  Plenty of 69 and 70.  I'm to cheap to buy one new ;D

I think that you can get them for cheaper on ebay than at a swap meet.

QuoteThe standard cost of just a repaint is $200.00 and up depending on the starter car. This price does not include the starter car which we can provide if needed. The average project including the car and all the most common work normally runs about $400.00. But depending on whats needed, some can be as inexpensive as $100.00 or can run as high as $900.00

I hate to admitt this, but I have paid less on paint jobs for some of my projects, and they were all real cars :rotz:

The Bullitt 1968 diecast is a good starting point if you have a 1968, wheels would have to be removed though
