miami is not a bad team.  It's hard in any sport to start out 1-6 and finish on top,  let alone that there are 16 games to make it up.  If they had started 3-4 in the opening seven they would be right in the hunt.  and the fish have beaten some pretty good teams.

I totally agree.. But either way you slice it, they're not getting anywhere other than better draft choices.......  I've been a Dolphin fan for 43 years,,,, granted, I'm only 42.... and will NEVER disown them.. But, come on !!!!!   :icon_smile_big:

I'm not a dolphin fan,but they have beaten some good teams this year.  Harrington is a bit unstable, you never know what QB you are getting, but they have good coaching and the good old days will be back in my opinion.  I'm a rams fan and waiting for the good old days as well!!

They seem to be hit or miss this season. Life long Dolphins fan here, not as long of a life as your though Troy. I'm a bit younger.

I said at the begining of the year that the Dolphins would be 8-8 or 9-7. For a while it was looking like .500 was way out of the question. They didn't show up on offense this past week. the Defense has been there week in and week out, but the running game is killing them. That and interceptions.

No one said we are enjoying the Joey Year, but then again it is still a step up from what we have had over the last 3-5 years.

Hey with more games left in the division, they still have a legit shot at finishing 2nd in the division.

The Bills are the next team on the hit list.]

Prediction 21 to 13 the Dolphins win.

Thats my thoughts on the game.

I wouldn't say that the team highlights for Dolphins were all 35 years ago. I remember many years that the Pats were the worst team in the AFC East, heck many years the worst in the NFL. Look back that the records of the Dolphins over the past 38 years. If they wind up finishing 8-8 this year, which I think is possible. It would keep them from having their 5th loosing season over that stretch. What other team in the NFL can say that?

Of all NFL coaches, only Shula and the immortal George Halas attained 300 victories. The Colts under Shula enjoyed seven straight winning seasons and in 26 years at Miami, his Dolphins experienced only two seasons below .500. Shula's teams reached the playoffs 20 times in 33 years and won at least 10 games 21 times. In Super Bowl VII, the 1972 Dolphins completed their historic 17-0-0 campaign -- the only perfect season in NFL history -- with a 14-7 win over the Washington Redskins. In 1973, Miami defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl VIII to culminate a two-season span in which the Dolphins won 32 of 34 games.

Steve P.

I don't remember shiP from 35 years ago. I DO, however, remember last September when the Bills SQUISHED the FISH, 16 to 6...       :stirthepot:     :moon:   :nana:

Hmmm...78 passing yards for Brady in a game which he was outperformed by Joey Harrington.  No doubt Brady is a good QB, but he has an excellent team surrounding him.  Put Brady on most any other squad in the NFL, and I would wager he would look good, but not like the QB god Pats fans try to make him out to be.  The defense is what has won games for NE.

If Miami had started Harrington at the beginning of this season, we likely would have won at least 2 more games.  That would have put us head to head with the Pats, and we both know who is playing better football down the stretch.  Not taking anything away from NE, but the Dolphins are very tough and should have taken the AFC East this year.

I'll have to go back and see who drove the team down the field with less than 2 minutes against STL to set up that game winning FG.

He's surrounded by a great team? nSure. Not many teams will win 3 Super Bowls in 4 years with a lousy team.

How many pro-bowl WR have the Patriots had? Yet Brady has always had one of the highest QB ratings in the league. He's got a Super Bowl MVP and 3 rings and none of it is his doing?

Please.

SB XXXIX
Brady 23-33, 2 TD, 0 INT, hits 7 different receivers. Pats win 24-21.

SB XXXVIII
Brady 32-48 3 TD, 1 INT, 354 yds, 6 different receivers Pats win 32-29

But it was the defense.....

No team is ever going to win a damn thing in this league with Joey Harrington as their QB. Not now, not ever, never.

The stupidest move of the off-season was the fish going after a questionable Culpepper when Brees was available. I don't know if you've noticed, but Brees is doing kinda ok in NO.

That's what people said about Doug Williams before he ventured off to Washington...

Also, yes, N.E. has three rings to their name out of 4 appearances..... Ok, cool........ But, Lordy.. Miami's been there 5 times, the only undefeated season, had the all-time winning Coach, Hall-of-Famers out the waazooo... ohhh, let's not forget Marino....... One thing is for sure, you gotta get to the playoffs to have a chance.

You want to hang your hat on a regular season win, you be happy with that.

We like regular season wins. The real season starts in 3 weeks. Two bad you won't be there.

But, at least you'll have that win during the season to look back on after your season is all done in 3 weeks.

I'm sorry, you didn't defend the loss but you did type, "No team is ever going to win a damn thing in this league with Joey Harrington as their QB. Not now, not ever, never."

I meant Super Bowls, championships.

Others knew what I mean when they replied back with the Doug Williams example.

Even then, thats not defending the loss. They lost, badly.

Cowher is gone from the Steelers,

Who is the next one to go?

Dungy if they don't win this year? Shottenheimer if his team chokes in the playoffs once again?

Not that I care, but the fact that the Dolphins even allowed this jackass to not be fired is beyond me. Unless you were a complete retard, you knew Saban was leaving. I would have dumped him with 2 games to go, but whatever. Maybe you guys can get Ricky Williams back and make your team a little more fun to talk about.  :icon_smile_wink:

While I'm going, I also think the Lions have pretty much assured us that they have the worst organization of all time. How many years does it take to realize Millen is a complete loser? Holy Christ this team is slow.

And...I wanna know why college coaches are considered to be NFL coaches? Fat boy from ND is always mentioned for the Giants job...why? He is garbage, and so is his program.  The whole universe is upside down.  ;)

I'll agree, I can't believe that they kept him, when he said he was even considering the job in Alabama. If yuor coach is thinking of leaving, give him a foot in the backside, and get him out the door. You don't need people who aren't commited to your origanization.

Weiss is playing the hand that has been dealt him in ND. Unlike most of the other top tier school, ND actually has some academic requirements that they will not overlool to land some stud player who can;t spell his name. That's a huge thing to overcome. The schol was willing to look the other way when Holtz was there and they had some success. Without that, they never get the better recruits. The only thing he has to offer is that, if he's a recruiting a QB, he can claim being Brady's metor in QB on his resume.

I don't see him staying there for his entire contract but the fact that the program sucks isn't his doing.

I hate ND.

I'm willing to bet that Weiss would be successful in the NFL.
