I dont know if this has been done before but i thought it could be kinda fun ok, lets say you can have any charger, any year any combo (color, trans, motor, etc) what would it be? mine would be a 71 rt hemi, 4 speed, hideaways, go green (or is i green go? i can never remember) white interior colored mirrors, with minor bolt on's like headers, weld mag wheels etc it will be interesting to see what you guys like let your imagination go wild! and if you aready have your dream charger let see a pic of it.

I could never pick just one to be my dream car, but if I had to, the one you just described would probably be it.

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

terrible one

Besides a Daytona,

clean black on black '68 Charger R/T, 440 or HEMI four speed

azraelck

'71-74 Charger, 318/4speed. I don't want much. Heck, I'll take a slushbox if I have to. At least it's a Torqueflight, and not the crappy A500 OD unit that croaked twice in my old Dak. With gas prices like they are, I want something I can afford to drive.
For every good man that is born, another good man must die.  Yet somehow the
factory keeps pumping out losers and we have no idea how to get rid of them.

Hum... thats a tough one.  As I grow older, I find that my tastes change slightly from year to year.

First it was "Build it like it left the factory" (build sheet correct).  :scope:

Then it was, "Build it like you wish they had built it" (all the options you really wanted).

To "Build it like they should have built it" (updated with modern equipment).  :2thumbs:

And now its "Build it like you want it to be!"  :METAL:

The thing is, I never really have gotten there yet because as soon as I get close to my current "dream" car, my opinions change  :P

But at least I still have the same Charger  :icon_smile_big:

That's so true.

I went through the same with my 69 Charger: Wanted the engine all to be chrome.  Wanted it to be a quarter mile drag car with a tubbed rear end.  Wanting to be a blown Charger.  To a General Lee.  My goal now is the factory original look (besides the color).    I hope I don't change my mind.

To Answer the thread:

TO FIND A 69 Charger RT 440 or HEMI with less than 100 original factory miles which has been properly stored for 37 years.  (That some old lady has in her garage that she drove a dozen times, thats it).   :o  ;D  ;)  :icon_smile_big:    :icon_smile_tongue:  ::)

69_500

HEMI 500, and a matching 440 powered Daytona.

Nothing special, just a nice pair.

Ghoste

Pamela Anderson is nothing special, just a nice pair.  You're talking about a little more than that.  :icon_smile_big:

rare69

I'm almost there! dream charger, 69 R/T SE sunfire yellow with black interior well built 496 stroker motor. only thing i might change would be the auto trany for a four speed and Dana instead of the 8.75.

mikesbbody

there sure are some awesome sounding (and interesting) chargers! keep them coming! i like matt's 71 rt charger plain jane car (matt i know of a 71 rt charger alot like th one you described) but its a 4 speed 6 pack! but it does have power brakes but its a radio delete car with manual steering. I also like the commnts about how your ideas for the cars change (i.e wanting it like it left the factory, then "as i want it" etc etc)

NYCMille

I actually own my dream Charger... and it keeps getting better every year...

- 1968 Dodge Charger R/T clone (didn't want to cut up a real one) done in a pro-touring style
- ALL BLACK with blood red stripe
- shaved drip rails and marker lights
- massaged 440
- 6-speed overdrive tranny
- custom gauges
- fully modified suspension, brakes, wheels and tires
- XV Motorsports full chassie stiffening kit
- Xenon lights
- etc... etc... etc...

Everytime I have a good dream about this car I end up spending more money on it, but you know what... it's gets better every year and I drive it more every year... I would be hard pressed to find another 68' Charger that accellerates, stops, handles and simple preforms like the one I have, plus is as reliable as my wife's Honda Accord. I love it to death and just keep hoping I can continue to impove it year after year after year...

mikesbbody

wow! thats definitly a keeper!!!

Khyron

i'm going to be the cheesy one and say mine.

plain jane 318 69' Charger.

I can do anything I want to it. change the motor, swap the interior, repaint it a different color, and no one will ever get mad :D

When i bought mine back in '84,..

WARNING!!! WARNING!!!

long story begins here...

  ;D

An hour after I bought my R/T SE in 1984,.. we were gasing up my van down at the corner Shell station when we roll in this identical 1969 survivor R/T S.E. is sitting there..

you could have knocked me down with a feather!

it was identical to how MY CAR left the factory...  :o
T-3 med bronze stripe delete (except for the black top mine was tan) and buddy seat,.. same as my car was.
so of course i giddied up to the owner half out of my mind with the story my Charger aquisiton of just an an hour before...
guy tells me he bought it from an older couple two blocks from my house where it had sat in the garage since the son bought it on leave for Viet Nam... and he never returned to the car so they sold it for i belive he,..  said Five Thousand Dollors...
I forget the milage now but it was under a thousand...
perfect car i wouldn't have had to do a thing to...

same day i bought mine..  :-\

that's a car i often wonder about..  ???
but to just pick an ultimate charger?..

either a '66, '67, '68 a '69, or a '70 or heck 'even '71 HEMI or 440 Six-Pack have to be a four speed (if i didnt live in congestionville USA i'd sure want one..)    :rotz:
im gonna say the darkest blue avail in whichever year... but i'd take any color really other then a green or yellow... sorry those so equiped..
if it's the '68 i'd take a red smooth top too...
any option that'll fit on two tags.. (that two tag black car ever show up :icon_smile_wink: ? ) Special Ed. 8 track, power windows, cruise, rear discs..
no threes on the trees i wanna stick shift.. to make it perfect throw in the trailor package and a hitch..  :pity:

Plum Crazy would work... daytona? 500? R/T  se? six-pack? '66 - '71?
  im easy...  :yesnod:
i'll take a '69 3 x black convert gtx too Santa... a four speed? hemi?..

Manfred318

Any Charger would be fine by me, I'm not too picky.

Current MoPars:
1968 Charger. 318 Out of commission:(
1975 Dart Swinger. 225 Pops daily ride.
1990 Dodge Ram. 360FI My daily ride.
2007 Magnum R/T. 5.7 Family wagon.

Lowprofile

Besides the one I already own, I have two other favorites................

I'd love to have another 70' R/T...... 440-6-Pak, 4 Speed, Dana 60 All Black & Chrome.  :yesnod:

The other would be a 68' big block 4 speed car... Medium Green w/black top & interior, or black w/a white interior :2thumbs:

Because I am a little different on what I want for Chargers (I love rarity over horsepower), I will say the one that almost no one would say: 1970 Charger 500 SE /6 (one of one, buildsheet has been found but not the car).  If I can't have that one, I would take a triple black 1970 Charger RT/SE, stripe delete, 4-speed to match my 70 RT project.......

I prefer 3rd gens, specifically 73's. So I'm currently restoring/building a bright white SE with black interior and spoiler, with a (500 ci stroker and a dual 4 barrel setup) coming soon. No bling bling B.S. rims either. I like the 70-80's look better, less rim more rubber. Dark tint, modern sound system, headers of course. Damn I'm glad it's almost Christmas, I've got quite a list going. :icon_smile_big:

andy74

Here My car

71bee

Damn MikeD, that is one sweet Charger!

I hate a loaded question like this thread suggests. there were way to many good lookin' years for the Charger to choose just one, and way too many killer options to boot. okay, heres my answer today (ask me again tommorrow, I might have changed my mind.)
