68-70 new mopar NOS outside door handles.Beware i bought a matching set new mopar ones pn 3454390 and pn 3454391. They are crap once fitted to the car if you bend down and look at the bottom of the handle where it meets the door skin you will see a gap aprox 1/8 inch. These mopar handles are just shit dont buy them.Comparing the original handles with the new ones you can very easily see the problem the new ones are not deep enough at the base, at the bottom. They will never fit tightly against the door like the original ones.I am now going to get my old ones rechromed. They cost me $207.25 US including $57 US for postage to Australia. I emailed the chrysler dealership that i bought them of and told them how i feel.
Who else has noticed this go and take a look at your handles.

Actually,
I bought a couple years ago doors handles from Paddock and didn't fit.. is also incorrect
should be more like :
A couple of years ago, I bought door handles from Paddock and they did not fit.
Or:
I bought a couple of years ago, door handle from Paddock. They did not Fit

etc..etc..etc

I love to bug people at work about thier poor use of English. They should call it Ameriglish
After all they are American, i'm not..lol

Door handles are over-rated. Mine are shaved. I have a pair that I'll sell that are factory, nice drivers.

Maybe you got a set made for a truck? He talks about the truck set as having a plastic clip on the inside instead of a metal ball, do yours have the metal ball?

I spoke to the dealer he said thats how the new ones are they fit multiple years,he said he would refund my money if i send them back but its not worth it because its going to cost another $57 US in postage from Australia,They were the correct ones with the ball if you wont the right handles dont buy the new mopar ones.Buy the ones from the previous post from josh.It clearly explains the problem that i found with the mopar ones.

You might consider contacting some US wrecking yards.  Several advertise in Mopar Collectors Guide.  The same door handles were used for probably 20 years on Chrysler products.  Might have to do a little polishing but if you get them off a 4-door car, the rear door handles are usually in real good shape.  Somewhere around 1968, the button changed from black to chrome.

The last set I got from Ma I put on my 1969 road runner and they were prefect. However  that was at least 12 years ago. So the newly made ones are crap - well so much for using Ma for some of the very few remaining pieces I get from them.

Nacho-RT74

are they the same ones than 70s A bodies ? maybe that's the difference

the 68-70 door handles are exactly the same as those found on the eighties and early nineties Ramchargers, and pickups.  I put a set on my 70 a few years ago and they worked great.

:iagree:  I got them right from my local dealer. You need to change out the latching internals from the originals though as the trucks are different(super easy swap).

i didnt shave the handles.. too me its a problem in the making. ive done it for others in the past and their is always an issue either now or in the future... i thought about doing mercedes benz handles like on a 98-2003 clk 430..but i kept it stock...

blackcharger

check with your local Dodge dear. they might have some handles from '93& older full size trucks. these are the same as  the cars, and alot cheaper than Y1 and the like. just have to switch the piece off the back with one from a car.
