Need your expert advice on photo printers

Hey guys, I currently have a little Canon CP200 that only prints 4X6 postcards. Half the time it doesn't work correctly as in putting a new cartridge in and it thinks it is empty long before it is. It wastes too much ink and paper. Frustrating POS.

I want a good, reliable, easy to use, high picture quality photo printer that doesn't cost an arm and a leg for the ongoing supplies (paper and ink). I would like to print pictures from size 4X6 to about 11X8. This printer will be dedicated for photos only. The picture source will be from my wife's small Olympus digital camera and my Nikon D80. Some pictures don't have to be real high quality while others do. I'll probably store most of the photos on the computer but may sometimes want to go straight from the camera to the printer although I don't see this as a necessity or should I?

What do you think?

I just bought the HP Photosmart 8250 Photo Printer from buy.com.  it was on sale for $85.68.  then go to HP.com and buy the ink and paper.  My spouse loves it and prints out pictures of the kids with ease.  Its nice to have 6 different ink cartridges instead of 3, that way when you run out of one color you dont have to replace 2 others at the same time.

My father in law has the Kodak system and he says the pictures dont bleed when you get them wet like an inkjet usually does. His old HP system would do that. I am wanting to get a Kodak system here sometime for photo printing.
