A little too much "NAWSS" can be a bad thing.

A 150hp shot-o-NOS was a bit too much for this block! :o

Not a Mopar, but...LINKY

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

oops, that's some of the nastiest cracking I have ever seen a block do. Simply amazing.

Yeah I agree, I've never seen anything like that. Bet it didn't sound good when it happened.  :o

I remember on another forum, this ricer was doing 90, and went from 5th gear to 2nd.

The engine wasn't recognizable anymore. Valves were small melted balls of metal; pistons were melted. It wasn't pretty... but at least it was a ricer, and not a real car!  ;D

Me and my grandfather were in a old GMC box van, 350 smallblock. Brand new engine, too. It overheated, and by the time we got it over, the heads had been fused to the block. Guy who put it in for us royally screwed it up. First engine went out, the radiator gave out. This one was just f'ed up. The last engine we put in was given a brand new radiator to match, and is still being used to haul entirely more weight than it was intended for.

However, the transmission held up well, two years later we had it rebuilt; but it also stood up to some hellish loads; far more than that truck was rated for.
For every good man that is born, another good man must die.  Yet somehow the
factory keeps pumping out losers and we have no idea how to get rid of them.

must have been a sand crack.  weak spot during the mold process. didn't  give way until under stress other than stock. what happends is during the sand mold process, some areas are thinner than others, but the specs for thickness passing  the grade are for street driving only. in the modern times we live in, only now we have found a way to destroy what was once sacrite.........................in other words, you blew the shit out of it!

If he would have had a wing it wouldnt have done that. He didnt have enough downward force to keep the wheels from spinning causing an over rev!

According to that thread, it happens frequently with those guys. You'd think they'd learn after a while & use a stronger engine, or less Nitrous. ???

More carnage pics, for those who may have not clicked the "LINKY" in my 1st post. ;)

Notice how the H-beam rods & ARP's held together, though.

So.........

What do the experts here think actually happened?    Did the block break due to stress or did the crankshaft break and cause the rest of it?

How the hell do you break off all your mains!?
