I graduated from high school in 1966.  There were a lot of those types of cars around back then.   By best friend in high schools parents bought a brand new 1963 Chevy Impala 4 door hard top with a 409 and 4 speed.  I worked on their farm in the summers and his mother would bring our lunch out to the field in that car.  She hated the clutch and never did get very good at it.

We sure burned a lot of rubber off the bias ply tires on that car.  You would see cars like that on a regular basis whether it be a Mopar, Pontiac, Chevy or Ford.   My cousin had a 59 or 60 Chrysler with a 413 in it.  It was a big car but we kept up with most anyone.
