I'm posting this for a friend. He has a 440 block that began life in a '69 Charger R/T. So if anyone happens to own '69 Charger R/T XS29L9B266440, the engine would like to be reunited with the car.

I thought the last three digits were cool too.

Heck, this Charger may have been scrapped years ago, who kniows.  Just worth a shot to try and see if it's still out there.

One thing that makes it easy to hunt the car down is that a lot of 1969 engines had the complete VIN stamped on em.  That ain't the case in 1970.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Just 6T9 CHGR

Sorry fellas not as of yet. :(  I did have one reuniting before and it was pretty exciting.
I will add this # to the registry and put you John as the contact OK?

Glad to see your posting over here again John.

Danny, I would post here more often but the overabundance of negativity and narrow-mindedness towards the new Charger keeos me from posting here.  I would all the time be having to point out to the whinebag crybabies how an SRT-8 Charger is just as much or more of a Charger as any of their old school Chargers.

Negativity and narrow-mindedness?  Nothing a good restyling couldn't cure.  :icon_smile_tongue:

Which is why you should post in the AERO cars section here. :)

We always need more people chimming in.

Hey I agree with you, I love the Charger SRT-8's. Heck I want a base model of the new Charger to drive to work every day.

That's what mine is is SXT V-6 model.  It's one notch above the base SE but still has the V-6.  I kind of look at the V-6 SE's and SXT's as the equivalent of the old 318's and 383's.  I think the Hemi R/T's are kinda like the old 440 R/T's and that the SRT-8's are like the 426 Hemi R/T's of old.  The cream of the crop.  It's all what ya make of it and when looked at with something other than a narrow and negative mindset, it becomes plenty obvious that the LX cars are hands down the best cars ever built by either the old Chrysler Corporation or DaimlerChrysler's Chrysler Group.

Oh really now???  I just may have to do that merely for the challenger of it.  So this daytonalo or whatever thinks he's the whip huh?  Might be time for a little bit of Motor City Smackdown!

Everything has been pretty quiet in the aero section for several days now.  Feel the love?

yeah, larry's got the talent, that's for sure.  I really enjoy his technical posts.  the gm headlight system for wing cars, his windshield moldings, wheel lip moldings.  That stuff is way cool,   But his posts are so intense...Did he finally get so mad that he quit coming around or was he asked to go?

maybe try stopping by your local police station and tell them what you have. They might even throw in their computer system and inform the owner them selves. I know they won't give you the info but they could make the call for you. Its a VERY long shot but worth a try.
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.

WOW, I had no idea things got that intense!  Sounds like it was some pretty crazy stuff!

Years back that would have been a GREAT idea.  Nowadays, things have gotten so touchy with the LEIN (Lae Enforcement Information Network) database that if an officer doesn'y have a really good reason to be accessing that data, he dang sure better not be messing around on there.

I agree. I am just south of you in the Toledo area. I remember seeing your Ausie car at the Norwalk show a couple of years back. Thats why I mentioned it might be a long shot. I can ask my county's LEADS person and see what she says about running it in her office for "training" use. we have training classes going on right now and she might let me plug in the numbers. I'll let you know.

That is way cool!  Heck, for all we know, this car may have been scrapped years ago but if it is still out there and the current owner doesn't happen to surf the three Mopar websites I posted this on, he or she may be happy to be contacted about the original block to their car still being around.  Thanks for making the effort.

Yeah sometimes its get a bit intense with daytonalo and Dave. But then again its not the first time there have been intense situations in the wing car area.

We need more post whores in the aero car section, and I know you've always got .02 to add in on topics. :)

I'm still hoping to get to talk to the people about the classic events for next year. With a new job I have free weekends now.

Me?  Two cents to throw in?  LOL!

Cool deal on the Classics.  Keep in mind that Fridays are a big racing day at most of the Classics and that racing makes up a large part of the constituency at the Classic Events.  I know you like to more of the show car stuff but if you're gonna be doing the Classics, ya gotta get down and dirty in the burnout box and on the starting line.

Well guys, I went to another "training" session with my 911 building personel here. I ran the VIN and found nothing. I have to have a plate and VIN to enter before it will check the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) part of the system. I might head back and put my model year plate in with the VIN and try it again but it doesn't sound good.

Yeah I do tend to like to tape the show side of the car shows more than the racing. However I have been trying to get more footage of drag racing at the last few shows I've done.

Then again, I also think sometimes, why tape the racing John will get that. :)
