Finished up the '69 this Saturday and took it to the Mopars on the Mississippi show Sunday. There are a few detail items I have to finish or change out, but it is done for the most part. It was a bare hulk on the rotisserie in October 2003..glad it is finally back together.

Here are some pics I took this morning.

Stunning JOB!! Really a beautiful car... enjoy that thing! :yesnod:

Red interior like it was originally ordered. Someone added a pistol grip though...honoring my '70 brethren  ;)  The car was built the last week of production 1969 so I think it might have been factory....good rumor to start at the shows anyway.  ;D

Oops...one last pic of the W15 hubcaps. I bought 4 NOS ones from member 6670Charger off the old site. I was really suprised how many people came up and commented on them at the show. I was not sure how they would go over.

2 Years in the making.  Can you say why it took so long.  Don't get me the wrong way on this, I'm just tryingto plan on how long it will take me.  Did you work on it on the week-ends only, did you have a lot of body repairs to do?  Was time spent waiting for parts or locating them?  I'm just curious on this aspect so I can realisticly set my goals.  Thanks
BTW it is a VERY nice car, love the red interior and I'm very jealous over the 4 speed console.  I'm trying to locate one for my car, but I'm only finding automatic consoles that need a lot of repair.
Keep the car safe.

Awesome job 694spdRt!

I have followed your progress, mostly on the old site.   :2thumbs:

And two years to complete it - well done!  I think that is good.

I worked on it in my spare time. Some weekends, some nights after work, etc. Reasons for the two year timeframe include, money to buy parts(big one), waiting for parts, distracting home improvement projects, and spending some time with my wife so I did not get divorced   :icon_smile_big:,

The only thing I hired out was the final painting. That took two months to get back. So from Janaury 2004 I did nearly everything myself, engine rebuild, interior, suspension, exhaust, brakes, the entire reassembly of the car, and all of the detailing along the way. It just takes time I guess and it is easy to get burned out. Before October 2003 I also installed front floor pans, trunk floor, trunk extensions, rear valance, and quarters.

So I guess to answer your question I did not spend every waking moment on it, but I did not sit around either.

THanks for the info, it makes me feel better knowing that it is possible to do without quitting your job and giving up family life.  Congrats on the car!

Are you going to use W15 hubcaps also? I know yours is black, red stripe, with the red interior from your interior post. I absolutely love that color combo. :2thumbs:

Let me know if you have any questions on the red interior.

was yours a stripe delete car?  did you go back to all original according to build sheet?  looks great, very clean, it should do well at any show you enter.
