Can u swap the short blocks of 360 (1986) and 328 (1993)? Use the factory Multi Port Injection intake and etc?  What will be necessary for the swap? Heads, cam, lifters, pushrods, etc?

Ive got a 93 pickup with a MPI 318 and I want to use my 86 360, but wanna keep the MPI set up as well as the puter so it works the trans and etc

thank you

I'm don't think the Magnum intake will not bolt onto the older style 360 block.  I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure.

it should work , is the 360 short block a roller cam block first , I think the left engine mount may still be edifferent between th e318 /360
you will need the heads , roller cam , lifters pushrods , you will need a 360 truck oil pan too the the 318 is smaller

thank you chryco,

no i do not believe the 360 is a roller cam its a 1986, its in a truck already, just an older one so I have the pan. I figured i need the heads, cam, lifters and push rods.

I have 2 complete running engines and wanna make 2 complete running engines, just want th 360 to be in the newer truck and have MPFI and change the other to the carburated version 4bbl of course.

the way it is sounding is I'll basically rebuild both taking them down that far and not going thru them makes no sense to me hehe. But will I gain any significant benefit doing the swap for my tow vehicle?? Or am i better off leaving it as is??

thanks again
