Heater/Defrost Advice

I recently picked up a 71 Charger SE, 383 2bl. For some reason I can get hot air into the cabin with the heater or defroster on. The valve that is in the heater hose lines appears to be new. Temp gauge shows engine is warming up but I'm unsure what T-stat is in there. Any suggestions on what my problem is?

Last I checked, you're supposed to get heat in the cab with the heater or defroster on.

Try changing the T-stat.  Might be stuck or missing all together???
