383

I am in the process of installing a 383 engine into a 1972 Charger. The engine came with an automatic transmission, but the car is set up for a manual transmission. I want to put either a three or four speed manual behind the 383 in this car. Are parts specific to this swap, or are all big block flywheels and bellhousings the same? I need to know what parts to buy as far as a flywheel, pilot bushing, starter, bellhousing, clutch, clutch fork, transmission, mounts, etc. I don't want to collect a pile of "wrong" parts, so I'm asking advice up front!

Thanks!

there are 2 belhousings , 143 tooth & 130 tooth flywheel , either will work as long as you have the bel & flwheel are matched
the flywheels will be balanced for at least 4 different engines even as a 130 tooth flywheel which will all have the same casting #s
the belhousings have 2 different brg retainer holes 4.32 & 4.8" , this will need to to be matched to the front brg retainer on the tranny you will be using
the clutch fork needs to match the  belhousing
the pilot bushing is the same for all years from the early 50s or early as is the tranny mount
