Hello and congratulations on a great forum.,I am from Australia and a huge fan of chargers 1968 to 1970 but especially '68's. There are very few over here in oz and bigger all for sale - I'm currently looking at the option of importing one from the USA - can anyone give me any leads on good websites to look at, car dealers etc or any other places to look? Thanks all!

Not to piss on THIS forum, but a guy at www.Moparts.com is an exporter to Australia. His screen name there is OzHemi. You might want to check him out.

g'day mate
you also have the option of finding your own and importing it , its not as hard as you think .I've done it 3 times now found all three of mine on ebay
just take your time and find the most complete car you can afford , then get it inspected before paying anything . then contact one of the importers over here who ship it and get you your import approval
classic car guy  http://www.classiccarguy.com/appraisals.asp  are who I've used for inspections and they have saved me from buying  a few bog chariots (well worth the money ) or you might find a member to look for you
good luck with your search

Cheers mate, yeah have contacted a few importers already and it all looks pretty straightforward - just got to do my research now and make sure I don't end up with a POS!

I'm in Australia as well, mate.
Honestly.....consider bringing one in yourself. Seems as soon as someone brings a car in they double the cost regardless. There's literally heaps of websites advertising cars. Just do searches on the particular model you're after. I had an appraiser look at a car for me and the detailed report I received was incredible. It was around $300 U.S.

Cheers mate, yep the prices here certainly seem excessive - I'm particularly after a '68 charger and the very few that are advertised here are pretty pricey! - just wish I bit the bullet a few years ago when the dollar was up around $1.15 or so!

Welcome mate, I'm in Perth. I imported mine from the US in 2008, found it on racingjunk.com. At the time I was on the East Coast so I used OzHemi (mentioned above) and he handled all the customs paperwork etc and shipped it into Melbourne. Haven't spoken to him in years so unsure if he is still doing it but I would highly recommend him. Which state are you in?

I was lucky enough to be in the US for work at the time but otherwise definitely get an inspection. Lots of bogged up bodies.

Other sites I checked daily before I found mine were this forum, Moparts, Hemmings, cars-on-line.com and of course Ebay. Craigslist was a clusterfuck of full-blown retards, I gave up on that.

There was one for sale recently here in Perth, he started the project with a hot rod shop here, got the body work done and car in primer but then stopped, don't know if he ran out of money or whatever but he only wanted $25k, was a 383 2 barrel '69 car.
