What's the best deal you ever got on a charger? Any good stories out there about getting a charger for a really good deal?

a friend came across a 68 318, old lady car, no rust for $1200! that was in 2000 I think he passed it up and didnt tell me!

I bought a 68 Road Runner for 75 bucks and traded that car to a buddy for his 69 Charger.  That was in 1983.

I traded a 69 IH mail jeep I bought for $100 for a 71 Charger with 440, traded that car for a 70 Super bee.

Ive told it before, but I drove my factory 68 R/T home 3 years ago for 3K cash from the 2nd owner who was leaving town. Havent regreted a minute of it. Its got a bit of front fender crinkle and a tiny bit of rear quarter rust, other that that its all original and in very good shape! hows that for a deal?

My grandfather, the orginal owner, sold me my '70 Charger 500 for $1.00 back in 1988.  I was one happy 17 year old, hell of good deal.

wow I read , and read, and you guys say $100, $300 , $2,000 I thought you were talking about die casts...not actual rel cars...now I fell awful, I paid $17.000 for my 68 383 , $25.000 for  68 RT  2 years ago and thought I was getting the best deal ever, were you guys get this cars at those prices ?

As I mentioned in my 75 dollar trade, it was the early 80's.  Things have changed a little bit since then.  Like today, Boy George picks up garbage as community service and in 1983 he picked up... oh, never mind.

In 1977, paid 400 for my first 66 Charger.... rust free 383 auto. In 1978, paid 300 for a 70 318 Charger. In 1981, gave 150 for a 71 SE 383 Charger that had been sideswiped on the driver's side. Gave 5K in 1984 for my 66 Hemi Charger, that I still have.... for now, anyway.

In my opinion I have read about some good deals so far in this thread,however deals that you got in the late 70's and early 80's were pretty much the norm back then becuase no one wanted them or knew the money that they would be bringing now.
To me a deal is getting something in these days and times for a bargain.Something that really isn't of the norm ,but of course it does happen as you can tell by the some of the replies on this thread!
