What you think about the 5.7/6.1L Hemi swap?

I have a very strong 360 that I have put a lot of money in. But the engine has a total of 300miles on it so far. A friend of mine has a short block 5.7 rebuilt for about($500) and can hook me up on some heads he has already ported. He told me I should buy new 6.1L cranks and rods / steel vs cast.

I have hardly even driven this car and I'm thinking of straiting a new motor, what wrong with me.

How many of you have thought about this? The motors are on ebay for under 2Gs and I spent a lot more than that on my 360. Also on ebay you can get mounts for the eng for $150 and it will bolt up to my 5 speed with out mods (except flywheel)

myk

You've already spent the money on the 360, so just run with that.  Besides, the new hemi would require messing with the pcm/computer and other electronics and that would be a nightmare in itself...

Keep the 360, i have tried the 5.7L Change but i gave up, you can buy wiring for B and E bodys but its expensive. Sometime in the future when i have more money i will have a go again, think parts and wiring and so on will be cheaper in the future....
