After 29 hours of driving over four and a half days I finally managed to post a few pics. I had a great time at the show and got to meet several members. I even picked up a few new parts - and a sunburn. I could almost get used to 80 degree weather in November... ;)

Hey Troy, that sucks that we couldn't hook up. I was there on Saturday but didn't have your cell #. It was a pretty good show though. Sunday is usually the "Wine and Cheese" crowd so I don't go. Hope we'll talk soon.

Yes it was a good show and I am also glad to have met you guys there. Troy, I'm glad your pics. all came out good. I lost about half of mine for some unknown reason.. :flame:

Tac, you should have looked for the Cordoba. My cell number was on the 4-sale sign.

Oh well, next year....

Hey Trav, where did you find the second score??

did any of you guys ever meet Garlits . i did and he treated me like shit. i went to English town raceway park for an oldies drag race. i had my 39 plymouth coupe with me. i took 2nd in my class but had been having a bad overheating problem. the nose on 39's are very narrow. not much room for a radiator. i knew Garlits had a 39 and wanted to get his advice on my problem. i stood on line with everybody else that wanted his autograph. when it was my turn  i complimented his 39 that was sitting behind him . then explained my problem to him. he looked at me and said , thats to bad my car doesn't have that problem. got up and went into his trailer. i was there cause i respected his opinion . guess what, i don't any more. Rene, that is more the common kind of treatment from him than not. A few years ago I heard him chewing on someones ass that had a question for him. Same same..  Last year he was running around threatening to end shows at his place as the vendors were all pissed off and raising hell. Since Garlits let a CELL COMPANY build a huge tower in his vendors area, it has been a nightmare finding truck/trailer parking. Car corral over flow used to go right were the tower is. Gates were open to vendors and parkers.

I noticed this year the OLD PARTS vendors didn't come or at least didn't bring the quarter cars and half cars and clips they used to.

I spoke with one of the guys from the mopar club that sets it up every year and he tried hard not to pin much attitude on Garlits. By the end of the first sentence he was telling me that they ARE looking for a new place for the future. Gainsville or Tampa. Either place would be a bigger grounds with better parking.  I'm hoping it will be in Tampa myself. That would make it real close for me. About 25 miles.. The problem with Gainsville is that there is another show around the same time in Georgia. That would put the two a little close.

On the flip side, I spoke with GArlits in the car corral this year. He was milling around and said something about my car. I asked him if he wanted to buy it.. He laughed a bit and said,(Naah, It would make me look too old)...   Somehow I can't see Big Daddy Don Garlits driving a 1976 Cordoba either...

As far as the vendors go, this year they all seamed to be pretty happy. All except the ones they turned away on Saturday in the late morning. They were full and were not about to make last years mistake with putting vendors out on US. 75...    Smart Move..

Nice pic's Troy!! That first tubbed 68 bronze Charger has been in ebay several times(if it's the same I've been looking at). The owner was at Carlisle this past year. The restoration in that 68 is awesome. To bad it's tubbed!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
